Wish you could show a good colour shot of that stand, Dave.

Looks great in place, though. The old tank the sump now?

Tarolisol 02-14-2005 03:57 PM

Looks like that drain goes thru the floor.

Delphinus 02-14-2005 04:49 PM

I think I see Doc Ock somewhere in there ...

What thickness of glass is the tank? Are any of the panels low-iron glass?

monza 02-14-2005 05:38 PM

Yes my sump is in the fish room below.

It is 5/8" glass with the front being 1/2" tempered.

sumpfinfishe 02-15-2005 02:53 AM

NICE

A few more teasers...

this first one is my adjustable durso valve, you can also see my double eruo brace around the top.

this photo ( sorry for the bad quality) shows tank full of water some rock and my canopy. The doors on the top canopy are not installed

Another tank shot, the pumps and heaters in there are just temp. until it's all flowing thru the sump.

more later
edit: again sorry the quality is so bad, rushed and the lighting is bad.

Delphinus 02-16-2005 06:33 PM

Looks really cool.

Where did you get the parts for the Durso valves? Or did you tap the plug yourself?

monza 02-17-2005 06:20 AM

Got the lights hooked up, the MH are off

Tony the little valve for the durso I bought from Home Depot, it is some water sprinkler thing and is threaded into a 1" slip reducer to 1/2" threaded.

This has been a ton of work, way off on how long the swap would take!

AJ_77 02-17-2005 06:38 AM

I still can't believe you fit that monster in your dining room...

It looked big in the garage.

Good on ya!

adidas 02-17-2005 07:57 AM

Is the background painted? it looks good. I need to get a black background for my tank

monza 02-17-2005 02:32 PM

Alan, don't ever bring up dining room around my girl friend.. it's kinda gone!
I'm trying to sell the dining 'nook by the sea' idea, not happy.

adidas... It's painted, not black a very deep navy, I like it to, thanks.

megatron_55 02-20-2005 06:42 AM

Sweet

Sweet tank man . . . but is there enough light on that to keep it a reef tank??

monza 02-20-2005 10:29 PM

Three 250mh's, supplemented with 3 actinics?? Yea it's enough maybe not for high light demand corals at the bottom so other corals are placed there.
