Joe's Juice?

Where is the cheapest place to get joe's Juice? Either online or local supplier?

If you are trying to kill aptasia there are cheeper ways than Joe' Juice. I scorch them with fresh boiling water using a turkey baster. Die aptasia!!

michika 02-03-2005 04:50 PM

Hmm must try that!

Thanks!

Joe's Juice seems to work sporatically.. Hot Water works best

I still have some JJ left and have done tests, the hotwater AP's do no return, but the JJ'ed ones do..

Sweet, well I'll just skip the JJ then, since it isn't worth the $15 that the LFS wants.

If everyone is doing it with hot water and a turky baster, is everyone using a glass TB?

vanreefer 02-04-2005 06:52 PM

I like the peppermint shrimp approach

AJ_77 02-04-2005 07:02 PM

The glass Turkey baster is a little dangerous, IMO - plastic is better. Either way the end is huge... Don't know how people control the flow blasting out of the those, maybe mine is garbage tho.

Try to find a syringe with a small diameter end, and let er rip. The curved syringes the dentists have are very good.

I agree, they just keep on working - no reaching back in to get the ones missed or failed to kill.

Peppermint eh?

I already have two cleaners in that tank, and in my other tank I have a fire shrimp.

They aren't really compatable are they?

SeaHorse_Fanatic 02-04-2005 07:28 PM

I have peppermints & cleaners in a 33g. No problems as long as each pair has its own set of LR to call home

JME

Anthony

Also have one fire shrimp & one cleaner in my 35g hex.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 02-04-2005 07:49 PM

PS. I've also found that aptasia sometimes come back after a Joe's Juice treatment.

doublette 02-04-2005 09:12 PM

We've had peppermint shrimp in our tank from the beginning and they have never touched aiptasia. I hear they can be hit and miss...

I had a few come back after using boiling water...

rusty 02-05-2005 12:49 AM

as did I

mr_alberta 02-05-2005 03:25 AM

I've never had any aptaisia come back after JJ...then again, I use a lot of it on each aptasia. Kalk paste works well I hear. FWIW I think JJ is just glorified Kalk paste...

michika 02-07-2005 12:30 AM

Well I'm going to try the boiling water approach, if that fails, I'll look into a Peppermint, and finally I'll probably break down and get JJ or make kalk paste.
