Lookin very lush! The one you're not sure of I think is a Pocillipora - great colour on that one, wow... what's your lighting these were shot under?
|
NICE! Especially your zoo collection.
The "Unknown" coral might be a pocilipora or cat's paw. Anthony |
Pretty sure it's a Pocillipora - looks just like mine.
And the Cat's Paw is the last one - Stylophora. |

Excellent tank Azilla,
How hard is it to maintain the Sun Corals. I really want some but I heard they are tough to keep  Can you tell me what else you have to do to keep yours looking that good, how often and what you feed them and how long you've had them. Thnx, Darryl |
well i spot feed my fish by hand 1x a day, 2x a week i use photplankton and 1x a week i feed all Mysis shrimp. Spot feed my suncoral and redbrain with shrimp 1x a week. Also at night 1x a week i blast cyclopeez into the tank the corals luv it. i have had most hard corals for about 4-5 months there growth rate is increadable i thought it would be slow but no way. I try and do a water change 1x and week but lately has been every secound week i do a 15gal change when i do this change i add 5 cap full of seachem calcium and stablizer stuff.
But yes the suncoral is very demanding it can die off real easy My problem for my suncoral is it get some kind of purple/red alge on it if i dont baste is off right away it kills parts of it other then that its a great coral but u cant just let it sit or it will die. |
So that was more info than I thought I would get. Thank you for answering in such detail. I will probly get a sun coral as I will be able to stay on top of it... I was told they had to be fed several times a day and even then they died easily..... If you can do it so can I... right??
Thx, Darryl |
Hell ya You can do it. Once u train it and it comes out it will come out at the same time daily then feeding becomes easier what i did at first when i first got it was feed each head with i tinny dropper. I mixed Mysis shrimp (( crushed it fine)) and Cycloseez i would put it in a cup with some tank water mix it up real good and then squirt it into the suncorals tubes. Then it will start to come out. Once u have it trained and it extends feeding is a breeze. Put some shrimp on its tenticle and it sucks the food right up. If its new feed it often then u can slowly cut back Another good way is to get a pop bottle cut it in half then put it over the suncoral and blast food in the top of it that way all the food remains for the suncoral your pumps and fish wont interrupt u

You make it seem so easy...
:grab: I'm gonna find me some sun coral and do it... after a little more research  Thanks a bunch, Darryl |
