Some more pics for the people that can't come to the meeting

Here is an almost full shot of my tank.
I'm missing the left foot or so where the clowns
are laying eggs in the frogspawn.
For refrence the tank is a 230G
6ft long, 2ft wide, 2.5ft high.

Here is my lovely pink birds nest with it's funky
growth pattern. You can see some of the 4 color
monti digitata forest in the background.

Lastly a cool shot of my yellow tipped acro.
This piece is the size of a softball and I absolutley
adore the growth pattern on this coral.
It was started from a few 1/2" frags about 2 years ago.

Canadian Man 01-18-2005 06:05 AM

Which songs do they prefer?

btw

The tank is looking sweet! Can't wait to see it in person.
(Maybe it will help convince the wife that I need a bigger tank... )

Cap'n 01-18-2005 06:08 AM

Cool!

I look forward to seeing an example of your technique at the meet!
(the second one, that is)

G1GY 01-18-2005 06:14 AM

SeaHorse_Fanatic 01-18-2005 07:34 AM

Acoustic or electric

Ryan 01-18-2005 01:19 PM

THe great big green thing on the left is that a big mushroom or a carpet anemome?

AJ_77 01-18-2005 02:23 PM

Well done, Jonny! Been a while!

(Ryan - your left or his left? That thing on the right is a Carpet, yes.)

Delphinus 01-18-2005 03:09 PM

My old carpet ... What was I thinking, selling it ?!

Oh, right, someone pestered me into it ....

Canadian Man 01-18-2005 04:03 PM

I play anything with strings at this point. When my daughter is sleeping it's acoustic. When she is awake and I have time it's electric.

Thanks Alan!

Yesterday the carpet was looking exceptionally HUGE!

Canadian Man 01-19-2005 06:38 AM

muck 01-19-2005 06:39 AM

Don't get too close! That thing has eaten fish almost as big as you. What's the death toll at now, Jon?

Canadian Man 01-20-2005 06:30 AM

I'll try to get a pic soon.

Um death toll is in the area of 11 fish. I'm guessing that the fish have been eaten but it's pretty obvious when the carpet gets a meal, it looks FULL and large.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 01-20-2005 08:31 AM

Ouch!

How big around is the carpet now?

Ryan 01-21-2005 06:21 PM

If it would have ate the idol i would have flushed it.

 Umm yea, ok......That's a great sollution

Delphinus 01-21-2005 07:46 PM

Unfortunately S. haddoni carpets are known to be voracious feeders. Very sticky.

I went through a lot of trouble to import that anemone at a time when nice coloured anemones were very hard to acquire. So I, for one, am glad that he's not flushed.

Keeping anemones can be a love/hate relationship... I know after my incident with the ritteri a few months ago I questioned what it was that I was doing... I think they (anemones in general) definitely need to be a measured choice.

Canadian Man 01-21-2005 08:15 PM

Well put reply Tony!

I know you were probably kidding Ryan.
BUT.

It's ridiculous to punish or kill an animal for preforming it's natural instincts.

I don't punish my bird for flying around the house or kill my dogs for barking when the door rings.
And I don't flush my anemone for feeding itself.
This anemone has been around for a long time and it will continue to be around no matter how many fish it eats.

These days the proper term is "a Courtesy Flush" when toilet loading is expected to exceed the plumbing limits.

Sucks about the lost fish but sometimes crap happens. Seems likes a more natural way to go then other things I've seen happen in the hobby.
