FT: Household plumbing help for Corals or Cash - Burnaby

I am in need of an experienced plumber who has enough parts in their truck to replace an outside shut-off for me. After looking at it I've decided I don't want to open a can of worms. Idealy I'd like to install a wall hydrant but we'll talk as I don't think the location will accomodate it.
Anyway, I bought a compression 1/2 BV but don't think I can get the existing plumbing apart without cutting and then replacing a section. This I'm not going to do and end up with no home water while I search for parts.

If you're interested in trading your time/labor for corals, or some side cash, please PM me with your name and #

I have the following available for trade, and I'll be generous if you will;

It's the blue valve which the dumb-ass builder installed as a bleeder instead of as a drain

1) This isn't reef related.

2) What the hell are you trying to do?

I can't trade corals for plumbing help?

WarDog 08-29-2018 02:16 AM

Yes. I'm asking what you need done, as your plumbing terminology is confusing me.

I'm needing to replace that blue valve. It's the outside shutoff.

WarDog 08-29-2018 02:21 AM

Easy. Does the copper on the left go to an outside hose spigot?

gregzz4 08-29-2018 02:21 AM

A wall hydrant is a through-wall non-freeze shutoff that allows you to turn off the outside water.

Yes. I just don't want to deal with the soldered elbow etc.

So when you coming over?

WarDog 08-29-2018 02:28 AM

Ok.

1. The blue valve is broken?

2. Why replace a hose spigot with a hydrant if you can shut the water off inside for the winter?

So many questions. If it can wait until next week, I'm off.

Short answer is yes as it leaks. At the very least, I want to replace it with a ball valve as I'm tired of replacing the gasket

We turn it on and off throughout freezing weather as the wife will rinse/wash her car every chance she gets. This, in part, is what keeps wearing out the gasket, and is why I want a hydrant. But I've read of hydrants failing, so you'll give me your best input

So many beers available

It can wait until you're off. Stay in touch.
Oh, and you'll get to see our new grass! It's not the whole property, but it's 300 square feet of sunny seating.

Sweet. I'll talk to you on the weekend.

Sorry I am of no help. I can only offer tree/plant advice for corals.

And you have already been a help to me in the past.

Don't go telling people I'm helpful. It would ruin my evil moderator reputation.
