Where is a reputable place to get a tat in Calgary?


What things would you look for in a LazyBoy recliner?


Anyone want to give away a gerbil to a good home?


P.S. All of these things involve hubby's christmas and birthday presents so mum is the word..... :mrgreen:

Gerbils do best in pairs.

You should have posted this about seven years ago, I had about 40 of them at any given time. :lol:

In pairs you say, i guess someone should have informed my gerbils of that before one killed the other. Maybe i just got a bad gerbil. They are by far the noiseyest animal i have ever owned though. Dont ever put them in a room with a bad. I contemplated feeding my cat a few times at around 3am. :mrgreen:

For ink you won't go wrong with Smillin Budah or SOS (Symbols Of Strength.)
Both these shops are clean and the work can't be beat. With SOS make sure that Steve and Lindsay Peace still own it because it's been a few years and I'm not sure if they sold out or not. (If they still own it, it's A OK!)

And all I look for in a recliner is my butt!

There are a few possible explanations (believe me, I've seen gerbils do very bad things to their cagemates), but in general they are social animals and will be more active and inquisitive if they are paired. Two females from the same litter would be ideal.

Relative to Syrian hamsters, they are extremely easy-going. In my mind an ideal pet. They are diurnal (less likely than hamsters to keep you awake, although they certainly still will at times), live longer (maybe not such a good thing depending on your perspective), don't smell as bad as hamsters (they emit only about two drops of urine a day), and in my opinion are much more interesting animals. The only thing they don't have going for them is that they certainly are more rat-like than hamsters (rats are also delightful, it's unfortunate they can't be kept as pets in Alberta).

I would like to acquire a pair of jirds (think gerbils, except a foot long) at some point in time.

having bought one when I moved into my house I can help on this one :mrgreen:

Make sure you go to a actual lazy boy store. and it will be hard to keep it a surprise as they actualy fit the chair to the person. there are several different back hights and positions so when I got mine I had to sit in about 18 different chairs to find one that fit me properly.

Have had gerbils (three sisters), Syrian hamsters (one at a time, females smell better than males) and dwarf hamsters (one at a time, females smell better than males). Of them all, dwarfs are definitely the cutest, need the smallest home, and easy to handle.

NEVER get the hamster habitat plastic things for homes as they are way too small, but use any old aquarium instead with a wire mesh lid. A dwarf hamster will live comfortably in a 20g, and they are VERY, VERY CUTE :biggrin:

Will never forget the year we bought one for my daughter years ago. We bought it 2-3 weeks before Christmas and kept it in my husband's computer room during the day. Once my daughter went to bed, we'd bring the hamster, aquarium and all, upstairs to socialize it. She was so sweet and easy to handle. If we did not currently have a ball python, we'd for sure get another dwarf.

Symbols of strengh SOS has changed its name its no longer called that, i cant recall the name but it is still located in the same place and has the same people.

I recently spent $1200.00 on a swivel/rocker/recliner, it is a Palliser BTW.
I was told by the salesman that there are better recliners than Lazyboy. But then a Lazyboy salesman would probably tell you differently. :mrgreen:

So when are you going to invest into that full body DRAGON tatoo Bob?

$1200 sounds pretty steep Bob. I was thinking more around the $400 mark.....if it was a new tank, now $1200 would be nothing... :lol:

The gerbil is kind of a standing joke. Barry got EmilyB for his 40th and asks frequently why I didn't get him a gerbil instead. So I figure I will, for his 50th, if I can find one. They never have any at Petland just hamsters.

I adopted one from the Biology class in Grade 10 and it was a super pet. Then my friend looked after it for me and her CAT :evil: opened the cage and ate it.....

So can anyone give me a rough idea on cost for a forearm dragon tattoo?

Deb, typical rates for custom work is around $100/hr. Depending on detail, you can get away with a nice forearm dragon for 2.5 hours and up. As an idea, my left arm is about 16 hours worth of work. Not sure if you ever looked that close, but that runs from my shoulder to lower forearm.

Looks like Bob's gonna have to sell a lot of those zoo's!

I think that for $400.00 you could get one like the old man on Frasier had. :biggrin:

depends on size and time, most shops charge at least a 80 - 100/ hour.

I have 5 tats on legs, back so on. So far the average is about a 100 a hour.

Make sure u r ready and have the pic decieded upon b/c it will nevr come off.

Years ago my brother had a Rhodesian Ridgeback that used to hang out at the water tap in the back yard of our house and wait for birds to try and get a drink of water ... then chomp ! ... nothing but feathers :eek:
