The beginning of the end of high RBTA prices?

Here's a shot of the new RBTA I picked up at my LFS for $30.00. It is about 5" across when fully extended. I am still afraid to put it in with my Ocellaris Clowns.

Saw those - tempting! Looks just fine.

Did you say Tony is coming to look at it?

Tony is coming tomorrow afternoon to pick up the Yellow Polyp rock.

Well later in the day I moved the anemone in with the clowns. They have not paid attention to it yet, so the anemone will have a chance to settle down before they begin to bug it.

any ideas on how to "restore" the bubbles in my rbta?

Beverly 11-14-2004 01:34 AM

Very nice, boB  What kind of light do you have on it and what sized tank is it in? How big do you expect it to get? Enquiring minds want to know

Of course you do.. The tank is a 52G (30"X20"X20"). The lighting is one 175W MH. I honestly don't know how big they get. . We will have to ask the experts.

Bob's upgrading to his 180gal with dual 400w halides and acro farm soon.

But seriously, yeah, I think the days of expensive roses are over. Especially since they split like kids at a bush party when the cops arrive (man I suck at thinking up analogies).

Chin_Lee 11-14-2004 05:19 AM

analogies ....

One more question, if you don't mind  What K value is the 175w?

The picture was actually taken under 130W of PC lighting. The light the anemone is under now is rated at 10K, but measures out at 14K.

You have a K rating gadget? Is it submersible? Or, more basically, by what method do you measure K value of a particular light with the gadget? Geez, boB, I'm full of questions today

No to all. The K value is given by the manufacturer. The seller told us the bulb actually measures at 14K. I can only measure Lux.

It was just my luck to pick up a rose before the price went waaaaaaay down, I payed $100ish bucks for it! oh well, atleast its healthy..... And that was about 8 months or so ago.

Beverly 11-16-2004 02:00 AM

boB,

Thanks for your answers to all my questions  Now it's time to question someone else....

spikehs,

How big is your RBTA after 8 months?

spikehs 11-16-2004 02:28 AM

hmmm, i'd say its about 5inches or so from around 3ish... It had almost finished splitting into 2 (I am positive it was splitting), but now it seems to have gone back together, which is wierd.
