an interesting way to kick in the new year
So I found an interesting way to kick in the new year but it's not one I recommend when I was at work yesterday I collapsed and brought to emergency after a few hours it was found I had had a heart attack (minor) but now I get to be bored in hospital until I am shipped off to Vancouver for an angiogram and possible stents. Hopefully I will be going tonight or tomorrow.
Great way to end the old year and start the new year |
Sorry to hear that Dearth.
I got a similar bizarro Christmas two years ago when I had a cardiac arrest right after Christmas dinner. Good thing my wife saw me and had to apply a CPR immediately. I was in comma for 3 days and had to spend Christmas and New year at VGH. Luckily I survive without any issues. The doctors said I'm now a member of the 7% Club as the survival rate of that kind of heart attack is only 7%. Anyways, take it easy, you'll be ok. The doctors and nurses there are all great. Wishing you well. If I may add, reefing served as a therapy for me during my recovery. |
Sorry to hear. Good luck. While you're down here, if you want to get your reefing fix, come over and visit and I'll cook you something to eat.

Yikes! I'm glad you're ok Dearth! (and you too crimper!)

Well I had a stent inserted into one of my vessels off the heart back home recuperating now only had one blockage rest of cardiovascular system had no restrictions anywhere else which is extremely good
Amazing at how far heart treatment has come angiogram and stent surgery is now classified as day surgery I was on the table 35 minutes total and had a 5 hour recovery and was up and walking shortly there after with minimal pain Had the surgery at St. Paul's in Vancouver on the 6th released yesterday and flew home now rest and recuperation with full mobility with some conditions (no lifting of anything over 10 lbs, minimal stairs and no pushing the body hard for the first 5 days) |
Good luck with the recovery!

Holey crap dude! Glad to hear you're ok!

Good to hear that you survived and are on the mend now. Good thing it happened, too, before you were flying solo (or without an instructor) with your flying lessons. Hope you have a full recovery and will be able to get back to your flying pursuits.

Ironically I was told by my nurses that they get more supposedly "in shape" and "healthy" people with heart attacks than those like me who are overweight and not overly big into exercise. The healthy ones are also mostly to be the ones who are angry and in outright denial of having heart issues and are not generally positive when dealing with the medical profession as they feel it's the doctors and nurses who caused their heart issues. |

Because of this my cardiologist sent my files for research at UBC. Anyways, stay positive. You'll be ok. |

With that and help from the medical people, you are on the way to recovery. Good work, keep it up. Glad you are better  |
