This is for a sump? A few bucks spent for the production of that video. I wonder how in the world they got the money!?! :noidea::noidea::noidea::noidea::noidea: |
From Reef Builders..
"Vertex will be offering the Vertex Supra Filter in a C and a C+ configuration, with a fully loaded sump retailing for around $3500. Read more: http://reefbuilders.com/2015/10/13/v...#ixzz3sf1qtqBw " So ya, just a touch out of my price range -lol |
nice video for the product
|
Nice video and nice sump. Maybe they should put that much effort into their website. Probably the worst in the hobby.
|
Holee crap!!! Did you have a hand in that build Warren?
Looks well thought out but I'll agree that the cost is paying for the video production Quote:

do people seriously pay that much for sumps????
i know I dont have the nicest tank in the world but I feel a sump while benfitical doesnt make or break a system. I really think a skimmer once you hit about $300 mark your paying for the longivity of the pump not so much the "better" skimmer and a return pump the same thing. a couple cheep reactors and filter socks and clean plumbing? my 40 G sump was $75 and IIRC $20 for glass baffles 350 for a skimmer 350 for a return pump and $50 in PVC for it. couple reactors $100. hell $3500 is more than most peoples full set ups before livestock. I hate being poor:sad: |
Rubbermaid tote problem solved :boink:

A sump is a $500 venture for the better setups, and $150 for an el-cheapo unit. |
It's $2500 USD shipped and include all the plumbing (fancy red pipes, fittings, conversions, silicon adapters, etc). No announcement on CAD MAP yet.
And it's not a sump, it's an entire filtration system. Anyway, the product is a fanboy's dream, not a budget savvy solution. Quote:

even with an apex BK couple radions and couple vortechs that still leaves you over 5 grand for the tank rocks sand sump return pump few reactors and plumbing and heaters. |

i went from a 150 MH fixture to a 250 MH fixture to LED 3 mag returns and finally settled on a snapper. lots and lots heaters and powerheads over the years i woudnt include. i wouldnt say well since ive bought 3 lights and a dozen various pumps n powerheads so add 3 grand to it. i relate it to vehicles. i bought my first car at 16, bought a BMW at 20 wanted a nice truck at 23 to haul bikes and dogs around easily so i bought a ram laramie not realizing what a pile of crap it was and currently have a ford platinum. i wouldnt consider that truck cost 200 grand since i made a few mistake purchases prior and decided to upgrade. this is just how I interpret the question |
