Bubblegum Millepora - that white patch is actually light blue but on the photo is mostly blown out.

Green on the Red Planet at last Yaaaaaayyyyy!!!
http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/v...psmtlbexjk.jpg

Frags; the older frag grew when I began to feed the tank crazy. The frag behind is a new cutting from one of the colonies which hasnt quite picked up the green pigment (old tissue takes longer to colour up? I dont know).

Loving this one:

Another shot of the Red Planet. Had to give the colony a blast with the baster to get it to retract the polyps a little.

Hope you all like.

Beautiful tank Sahin and great photos! Nice to see you here. :D

In your FTS, mounted to the rockwork, on the upper left - is that your RP?

WarDog 10-04-2015 04:49 PM

Wow. Nice colours! I see a TOTM in the future. Can we see some more hardware pics and perhaps some details of your dosing and coral feeding routines?

Wheelman76 10-04-2015 05:22 PM

Great looking tank Sahin , nice to see you here at Canreef.

Hi. Yes, that is the RP. But I have another colony right in the middle of the scape being hit with more light. That colony is more red and has less green. The colouration is "brighter" if that makes sense.

Wow, thanks for the compliment. If the tank gets even close to TOTM quality I'd be happy.

Here are some equipment pics:

Here was how the tank looked about 10-11 months ago. I removed the large corner overflow box.

Installed an Oceanlife internal overflow:

Sump area:

Reactor for GAC:
http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps7c19d051.jpg

I also use a couple of litres of Siporax filter media to make up for a slight lack of rocks. There are also a few liverock pieces in the sump.

Initially I used Prodibio to reduce nutrient levels. I used this stuff for around 7 months. Now I dont even need to use GFO.

I bought a new doser a few weeks ago:

Forgot to mention:

Only dose Fauna Marin Ballin Lite with the trace elements. Use GAC in a reactor. No GFO. 10% weekly water changes.

Feed via autofeeder: 3xdaily mix of 3 different flakes+Spectrum Pellets+algae flakes

Feed manually daily: 1-2 cubes of Mysis + 1-2 cubes of Brineshimp

Occasional feed: KZ Coral Vitaliser/Cyclopeze/Amino Acid

spit.fire 10-04-2015 07:11 PM

Its a PacificSun Kore 5th Doser. I bought the magnetic mixer package. So you place plastic covered magnets inside the container and the unit mixes the contents as some formulations tend to settle etc.

WarDog 10-04-2015 07:47 PM

Thanks for the details Sahin, it's all very impressive!

Slyguy00 10-04-2015 08:12 PM

Tank looks great, and your pictures are incredible!

Myka 10-04-2015 09:00 PM

I was looking at that doser recently Sahin, are you concerned at all about the magnets rubbing the plastic of the bottle, almost like using sandpaper over time? I ordered some Siporax a month ago from Austria because of your other discussion. Hopefully it shows up soon. I only have 28 lbs of live rock in my tank. Your fish photos are STUNNING.

Beautiful looking tank man. Was creeping on the other site and have always liked ur tank. Very clean and love the minimal rocks.

Bill@IA 10-05-2015 12:23 PM

Nice to see you share your reef keeping hobby here Sahin. I have followed you and your reef keeping buddies for years on Reef Central.

Congrats on achieving Reefer of the month!! http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2531028

:hail:

Beautiful

Sahin 10-05-2015 08:32 PM

Thanks all.

Bill: I love your tank and follow the thread on RC. I need to start going through some of the build threads here...I bet there are amazing SPS setups hidden deep in the forum somewhere...

Mindy: the magnets dont run continuously; only a predetermined times for a short period. I used laboratory fluid/chemical mixers at university and it takes a long time running continuously before they get slightly worn out.

maron6977 10-06-2015 04:53 AM

Awesome tank , info & pics . Can't wait to see more .

Yes, I knew that, but they still don't rub that soft plastic? I'm surprised. I suppose you could transfer the fluids to a glass container instead if you're paranoid like me. :o

Well done on the ROTM recognition! :thumb:

Myka 12-05-2015 06:08 PM

Looking forward to a photo dump Sahin! *nudge*
