Seio pump

I know that these have been compared to other streams, whether that is a fair comparison is not for me to say. However I just wanted to mention how happy I have been to date (roughly 3 weeks), with the Seio (M620)performance as compared to my maxi jets.

Granted pricing is different, but the feel is wonderful and I have really noticed a huge difference in overall flow and distance covered (Easily covers 4 ft length of my tank). Like most I did remove the adjustable nozzle which apparently also restricts the capacity a little. This is my first experience with a "stream" style of pump, but I really like how I can place it fairly close to corals and not worry about the "jet" of flow hurting my stock. I also noticed that the fish seem to really enjoy getting closer and playing in the stream which they did not do with the jets.

Of course time will tell whether the "Rio factor" will play into longevity of the pump. I also really liked the versatility of all the potential attachments.

I agree with that. I also bought a 620. and am very happy with it. I replaced a Maxijet 900, and a AC 402 with one 620.

I just got two 820 for my custom 100gal that is 4ft long and I think it is just perfect with the addition of the return pump (1800g/hr).

I think you would be okay with two 820's.

Had it for a day and love it....just wished the cord was longer.

Does anyone bother with the extensive weekly maintenance the instruction say you have to do. I have not yet taken mine out of the tank to do that.

I've got two and they wont start. Do I seriously have to plug these into my wall outlet (which is gfci and 30' from the tank) and not my powerbar or extension cord?

My manuals are soaked and sorta stick together - any tricks I should know for getting these to start?

TIA

What ! They were both fine Lost. They should just start right up.
If there is a problem PLEASE return them for a refund. PM me. Maybe the manuals got into some of that applejuice that killed my Sony....

Does anyone have these pumps in a 3 foot or shorter tank? If so how do they perform?
Also for any of you that have had them for awhile are there any issue you have come across? ie. failing, needs cleaning constantly, etc.

I have had one running in a 30" tank for a few months. I have not done anything to it, and it works fine.

I just picked up a Seio 628 for my 38g (3'). I removed a 802 from my tank (too much space taken up with the filter), and put the 628 in its place. Along with that I have one MJ1200. I didn't get as much flow as I thought out of it, but then again, its my first time with a stream type of pump. So far its not bad, I'm thinking however I should of gone with the 820.

Maybe down the road if I upgrade the MJ1200 to a 628, there should be just enough flow.
