I have a brute container that automatically fills with RO water. There is a ball valve plumbed into it so I have fresh RO available on demand. I also use this container to top off my tank through a float valve in the sump. My ro filter is on a garden water timer and I have programmed it to run for an hour a day to refill the water in the container with a float valve on the end in the event that the brute container ever gets full. I usually only keep it 1/3 full though because I don't want to dump 20 gallons of water into my sump if the float valve ever failed. The automation is great. I like never having to think about freshwater top off, however if I had the space I would have liked to have a separate RO storage container and a separate RO top off container.

Here's a quick list:
Scullery sink City water tap and RODI water source Floor drain Workspace (countertop) Shelving & cupboards Double the plugs you think you need (mixed GFCI (for heaters) & non-GFCI (for main pumps)) Small Fridge and Freezer (fridge could be a small wine bottle chiller *Colby's idea*) Suspended ceiling or easy way to suspend wires and cables from the roof Mold & mildew resistant drywall 3/8" or 1/2" painted plywood applied to the walls to fasten stuff to! Electric raceway to conceal cables HVAC or a direct vent outside with a humidistat control I wish I had more plugs in my fishroom and will likely add some more before I finish the backsplash. http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-VStsvnH-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-b6Cn8Dz-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-SgsKh3g-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-8tRXXcB-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-4P7TQd8-L.jpg |

I painted my floor with an epoxy. Looked pretty and wiping up spills was so easy.

Floor drain is nice but unless there's already one good luck not a easy install. I ran 3 new 15amp breakers for lots of power also if one breaker goes for some reason it does not shut everything down.main return is on its own plug so it never stops.

At 6'x7' you're going to have less space than me so you'll either need to be a lot more creative or you won't be able to accommodate many of these suggestions. One that hasn't been mentioned so far is some ducting to draw fresh air in from outside. Otherwise, in the winter the hot humid air you exhaust out will be replaced by household air that you are paying to heat. Let me also suggest that you buy the largest exhaust fan that you can find. 50 cfm wouldn't make a dent in the humidity in my room, 110cfm still left it extremely hot, it took 300cfm to get the job done.

I would recommend that you have all your outlets gfci protected. Electrical code states that any outlet within 3' has to be properly protected. I do this for a living and it just provides peace of mind since you would have open sources of water within reach everywhere.
