As of a month ago, I have given notice of ending my role on the board. The end of the year will mark 15 years as part of the moderator team and I feel it's time to step aside and maybe sit in front of my tank for a while :)

With that said, I'm looking for a strong contributing member that's easily tricked to take over the role in 2016.

New person must have good sense of humor, not easily bothered by personal attacks via PM or publicly, must like cookies, ideally have a fair amount of reefing experience, prefer MH as a lighting source (ok, fine, pushing it there).

Job entails being on Canreef more than you should be, reading almost every thread, moving things, approving accounts, tracking IPs for SPAM sign ups, banning people that can't conduct themselves properly, assist and or take over TOTW feature, work well with other team mates. Other related duties as required.
Pay= Joy of doing something to win friends and influence people. And the occasional cookie :)

Please PM me with your interest, I will assess and make recommendations to management for those that I think are suitable. Realistically, I can maybe think of 1.5 names right now.

Well that sucks for us. :( You've been really great over the years. I can understand why you've had enough though - it's a tough job for no pay.

It's not that I've had enough, or it's tough, it's just time. I have other things going on and have only planned for another 5 years in the hobby. I would just like to relax a bit and enjoy the other things more than I have.

I've got one offer that I think would be a great replacement, he just needs to weigh the good vs bad :)

I think I speak for the vast majority of Canreefers when I say that you've done a real standup, excellent job as a moderator for this site which has seen its share of "drama" and other issues. You've dealt with the ups and downs with class & a sense of humour. Thanks for your countless hours and 15 years of dedicated service to this online community, one that has often been slow to show our appreciation for all that you and the whole mod team do to keep this site running smoothly. Thanks for your advice, your support and your friendship. Now go enjoy your time with family & relax with a cold one & a big plate of cookies in front of your tank. You've more than earned some time off.

In that case I'm putting forth a petition for a hostile takeover of the soon to be vacant position.

I pledge to follow the boards guidelines and what ever rules there may be.. blah blah blah.. So if you are with me people i promise cookies for all and a long straight forward no nonsense approach to the job for long into the future... Or at lease until I officially absolve myself of the two "small" strikes on my record... At which point I call for a free for all and exit stage left.

In light that your probably going to get an excess of cookies as bribes I felt that you would need toothpaste to clean your teeth afterwards so I have provided a list of flavoured toothpastes that you may want to try once your cookied out

Thanks! But again, I'm not leaving, just retiring from the position. I'll hang onto a spare set of keys in case, and will still be posting, I'd just like to be a hobbyist for a change :)
