LF : 1" pvc and 1 1/2" PVC
as the title says, just need small chunks I need 48" of each, anyone have any?
|
Its only $4 for 10' of 1" at home depot
|
I think the Home Depot/Rona stuff is only Sch40
If their hours suit you, you can get what you need from Vancouver Irrigation Supply I've bought smaller lengths from them before I haven't been there for a couple years as I work closer to Corix now |
It is. I didn't see anywhere on the post that said schedule 80..... I still don't for that matter.
|
I know 1" cheap. But cant find 1 1/2 in shorter lengths
|
Only brought it up if it's something he didn't think to mention
|
I have both 1" and 1.5" sch40 PVC, long lengths. PM me if you want.
|
you dont need sch 80 for any fish tank application unless you want the grey look. sch 40 is plenty and adapts to any sch 80 fitting
|
I don't even use that, I just get that thin wall stuff. Even cheaper!
|
Sch40 is OK for pipe, but when it comes to fittings you need to look inside to see the clearance
"Skid40" fittings have a much smaller opening compared to Skid80 fittings |
I get the white fittings. Work good.
|
I hate the white ones ... Sch40 are restrictive
Compare the insides of them against Sch80 and you'll see what I mean. Big difference |
Water goes through holes, I'm happy.

Guess it all comes down to how much water you want to go through said holes When planning plumbing I look at the fittings and see Sch40 cuts down flow considerably when it comes to unions/valves etc Not my choice for parts, but to each his own. Or just what they can find locally  |
Yup. I simply need water to fall into sump, go back into tank. Done. The lumbing I have can support 5 times the flow I use, so whatever fitting home depot sells does the job. The entire plumbing job on my tank cost less than 20 bucks.

rona on south fraser in abbotsford will sell you shorter lengths, but they are a bit pricy

Otter co-op @ 248th & Fraser Hwy sells short pieces of pvc.

Something from a few years ago is trying to come back to me. I bought some parts from Rona, and some from Vancouver Irrigation. I'd swear the skid40 from Rona had a smaller I.D. than the skid80 stuff from VI. Didn't make sense to me at the time as 1" is 1". I realize they both accept the same pipe size. I'm thinking it was a valve comparison. May have been between a ball and true union ball. Can't remember. |
