So are you fellas up to making some water storage tanks? I need two tanks that will stack over top of each other for an automatic water change station. I will do a sketchup to give you an idea of what i am looking for and I will see what you guys can do with it.

Scythanith 04-29-2015 11:12 AM

Here is what I have come up with. Tanks are 24 x 30 x 24. I'd also like a spot for the JG float valve drilled in the top edge of the upper sump for the fresh RODI. Bulkheads are 3/4", unless you think that's too small. What could we do about tops? I'd want tops to keep contaminants out but would need it to be easy to add salt (to the bottom reservoir). Also there would be some level sensors and piping coming out of the top of the bottom sump, sending clean SW to the main tank. I'd want styro on the bottoms of the tanks as well. Shoot me a PM/email for prices.

Yeah, they're big! They look like display tanks - with holes in weird places.

A little under 60g a piece :) They used thick enough glass, that's for sure haahaa!

Well yeah, they're 24" tall! All 24" tanks should have relatively the same thickness. It's the same/close to your display tank, isn't it?

Scythanith 06-14-2015 05:23 PM

Display is 1/2" and the reservoirs are 3/8".

Myka 06-14-2015 08:59 PM

^ Ya ya! Display is 6' and these tanks are 30"? That's the 2 mm difference in thickness. :)

Scythanith 06-14-2015 10:52 PM

The reservoirs are 24" cubes :)

Myka 06-15-2015 12:19 AM

Apparently I didn't look very close. :o

AWC station stand is built! Now just to plumb it and program it all :)

Also I got the frag section lighting up and running. 3x36" T5's running off of an IceCap 430 ballast. PAR readings are ~150-200 in the middle of the frag section.

Got the recirculation plumbing in place. Waiting for stores to open tomorrow so I can get an o-ring for one of my unions. Then I can run some water :)
