Haha thanks bud.
Naw big tanks are just too much work. These nano can easily be over night reefs

Getting there... No clue how to use this radion. I need to dim this thing.

What generation of Radion is it?

I know for mine, I have to connect to EcoSmart and plug in a USB. There you can change down the intensity.

Let me know if you find a ReefLink. I'm looking for one too. lol:lol:

Tn23 02-06-2015 08:54 PM

I'll give it a whirl tonight. I need to dim them. My anemones are getting bleached!!

as for the reef link. Jl has some but I can't afford one haha. Was hoping someone was selling a used one.

Amazing specimens sir,

Are those the Rock Flower Nems in the picture? Do you have any closeup shots by any chance? Any for sale? I've been looking for some for quite some time but stopped because was told there was none available during summer time because too hot. Please PM me your number, I purchased some ric's from you before have any to spare to a fellow reefer?

Thank you haha. I do have a couple I can let go of. However I'm attached to these guys. There's around 30 of them in there and they are very happy. But I'll definitely cull a few that are similar out if your interested send me a PM!

I have been using Radions since day 1 and still just use the original desktop Ecosmart Utility on my laptop with the USB connection. As often as I adjust it, certainly no justification for getting that ReeflLink. Also, have tried the various Artificial modes and files with different settings. But have come back to the simple Natural mode where you just set % and depth, and let it do the rest with ramping and spectrum mix. That has worked best for my coral color and growth. I do keep an Artificial setting that I can switch to with the press of the button. It highlights the color pop of the corals, and sometimes I turn it on just to impress visitors. But that setting is not the best for my SPS if I leave it on.

Thanks for the feedback Walter. Fortunately I don't have any sps in this tank at the moment. I haven't had a very pleasant experience with LEDs and sps in the past. This tank will mainly be for my rock flower anemones and some exotic lps :)

2nd day in and tank looks happy so far... *fingers crossed*

Is that my blue fuzzy mushroom in the corner? :D

Tn23 02-07-2015 08:30 PM

That's my electric fuzzy blue mushroom... But if you ask nicely maybe I'll share some with you

Reef Pilot 02-07-2015 08:42 PM

Well you certainly have some fancy LPS (and softies) there... I'm sure they need a lot less light than SPS, so you should be able to really dial down your Radion. There are almost an infinite color spectrum/brightness adjustments available, so for LPS, you can probably just choose what makes for the brightest color pops,... or make them glow... haha.

I've just started getting some semi fancy LPS (trachys, wellso, acon, fungi plates, etc) for the bottom of my tank. They look nice, but will need a lot more to be really noticed. This could be an expensive undertaking for me... Need to sell more SPS frags so I can afford the LPS...lol.

I can see why you and Albert are going for the nanos,... lot less bottom to cover.

albert_dao 02-07-2015 11:01 PM

I wish. Most of the stuff in that tank I bought retail and have had for a long time.

acepumping 02-08-2015 12:32 AM

Awsome thomas. I miss it alrdy.
I got my radion figured out though. Lol

Like Albert said... we do it for the swag?

Your totally right Walter! there is a lot less space to cover and its more affordable for sure. There's no way I could insta-reef a big tank.
I am now running the Radion at 30%, after playing with it and changing the spectrums things are looking better then ever! Kindof digging the Radions now

Agreed! New trend of 2015!
What lps are you looking for? I'll bring you some :)

Tn23 02-08-2015 09:44 PM

Here's one of my favorite rock flower nems right now. Hopefully he will pop out some nice offsprings.

Orange/gold frills with a bluish/redish center.

Haha, it's not just swag for you and Albert, it's a plan.... But hey, all the more power to you guys. The tanks are really cute, and those are indeed very nice looking corals.

Don't associate me with that Albert guy... He's a money sucking machine :twised:
He takes my hard earned pennies whenever he shows me new eye candy.

I bought this tank off another member who intended on doing a similar build, I'm just carrying out his dreams. Yes I agree walter they are really cute! I'll definitely have to come by again and pay your tanks a visit soon. Perhaps you can teach me how to use that waterproof camera we have?

Yup, he's taken a bunch of my money, too... Him, and that Rich, and oh yeah, Chris(TD), too .

For sure, come by anytime. There are a few tricks to do with setting your manual WB, in case you haven't done that. And can always have a Sunset Monti frag available for you...

Thanks Walter, I'll swing by sometime. I tried to play with the camera today and I still can't get any good shots

Tn23 02-15-2015 02:44 AM

Been over a week, here are a few inhabitants. They seem happy?

Some plate coral thing.

Couple random Rock flower Anemones.

gregzz4 02-15-2015 02:50 AM

Wow Thomas, those colors really pop under your lights

Tn23 02-15-2015 02:53 AM

Really thinking of switching my display tank from T5s over to LEDs after I got the Radions.... the colors are truly amazing and so much customization available.

WarDog 02-15-2015 02:54 AM

This tank is like a deep fried Mars bar wrapped in bacon, just awesome!

With a side of bacon, and a beer chaser

shiftline 02-15-2015 04:48 PM

What skimmer did you get? Older IM one or the newer ghost one?

Tn23 02-15-2015 05:54 PM

I believe it's the newer ghost one. However it doesn't skim much out. Maybe because I only have 3 fish in the tank at moment. Will definitely have to start playing with the skimmer to see what I can pull out.

shiftline 02-15-2015 07:49 PM

Is it the white square one? Is it actually Silent or still loud?
