How Much Have you spent

How Much Have you spent on your nano reefs. I am building a 7 - 10 gallon ano reef for a friend here. Looking to see what people have spent on their set ups. Could you tell me what you have done with it. Now i dont want a over the years total i would like a total of all the thing running living, or in your tank now. Thank you

$600 in my 5.5 not cvounting livestock

Dale D 09-03-2004 01:48 AM

So far my 3.5 gallon at home has about $150 into it before livestock.

3.5g Tank $14
PC lighting for tank $50
PC lighting for refugium $50
Heater $36

I already had the Aquaclear 500 that I used for the refugium. $0

fortheloveofcrabs 09-03-2004 05:52 PM

Hmmm, lets see...

$170 tank
$150 plumbing
$175 stand
$320 lighting
$100 sump
$375 chiller/heater

total $1290 for a 16 gal bow, mh lighting. Keep in mind you also need water (DO NOT USE TAP!! Edmonton water stinks!) and salt, salt is $$$. Live rock also adds up really fast. Just think about 1 - 2 lbs of it per gallon, and about $10 a pound. So... a 7 gal would cost about $100 in rock alone. Be careful not to under budget like I did... Better to be safe than sorry! :)

LOL begfore the drought if you ran chin lake through a giant coffee filter it was cleaner than the water u drink in edmonton. But now i am not sure.

Well, its a complete setup.
comes with a 3-stage filtration system in the back.
Basically, just add water and live-stock.
Here's a pic of my tank,

JBJ nanocubes (even the new DX models) can be had for much less than 200. I'd also like to point out you should take a look at what other nanocube owners are doing with theirs - that "3 stage filtration" is less than ideal.

Well not sure if my 24 gallon cube is considered a nano but mine is a total cost without live rock or lifestock of about 230 dollers

$40 for tank 18x18x18
$50 aquaclear 500 for fuge and heaters
$120 for lights retro fit workhorse ballast with 3 55 watt bulbs
$10 dollers for 100 watts of heat. I got a deal there.

Murminator 12-30-2004 05:22 AM

100 BILLION DOLLARS
