Runnin IE11 ? Can't see all the options you had on Canreef before ?
I recently upgraded from XPPro to 8.1, so I went from IE8 to IE11
Running 11 has been a treat on the web, but an issue on Canreef as I lost a bunch of features Tonight I figured out the fix and want to share it with you all (whether or not you Firefox or Chrome guys have this issue, keep your IE bashing to yourselves please) What happened to me was; All drop-down menus disappeared including Quick Links, Search and Staff Contacts. But I gained Mark As Read and Member Online stuff (not that I wanted either) I also lost the menu options when you click a member name in threads. Instead I was taken to their Public Profile page The fix is very simple; Click your IE Tools 'gear' icon and then Compatibility View settings For Canreef (in the 'Add this website' box) type canreef.com and click Add Click 'Close' at the bottom of the window and that's it You will need to re-login to Canreef as it will for some reason take you out of the sites you had open. Probably best to do it when you have no sites open I had to add it a second time for some reason, but that's all part and parcel when you use Microsoft products :twised: |
Mine works fine with all default settings. Maybe yours was configured differently by OEM?
|
Ya, could be some kind of install issue
I'm still having to re-install the site in Comp View At least I found the issue |
Just a tip, but nobody uses IE anyway :)

So what's your recommendation ? Chrome or Firefox ? |

Thanks Microsoft for incorporating Comp View into History Deletion Bu-bye IE :twised: |
I use Firefox, but lots use Chrome. All personal preference
|
Hmm, OK and thanks
I still can't make my mind up after all the web reading I've done on both |
Reading?? Sheesh. Install them both, see which you like. Nothing to read.
|
I'm gonna start tonight with Firefox and see what happens L8R |
Chrome! All the way! Lets start a poll. To see who uses what browser.
|
Let's not. Nobody cares :)
|
I can't believe there is still an IE user our there and they are a reefer no less!
|
Chrome is lighter and faster but the initial startup time can be a bit irritating. Firefox is a bit jamed packed with all addons and stuffs. And like Brad said, no one uses IE other than downloading firefox/chrome.
|
Well, IE has it's place. Very popular in corporate settings where GPO is used to manage settings and security.
|
OK
After many days of extraneous stuff I finally had some time to install Chrome So far it's acting better than IE and I don't need to add sites to a compatibility list I'll give Firefox a go next, but will wait a week or 2 |
IOS 8......:D

I use chrome mostly because I find adblock works better than on Firefox. Best extension ever made.
|
I use ALL the browsers!
Windows IE (whatever) on my corporate laptop (mandated). Firefox on my actual (for doing real work) development workstation. Chrome and/or Safari on my (antiquated) iPhone and/or Mac/Macbooks. Netscape on an old laptop that runs some older programs that I can't seem to let go of (don't ask)... |
:amen:
