Agreed !! I appreciate you posting the video but it didn't really show anything as far as flow is concerned.

Yes, it is a prototype of the medium model.

True. It was more about showing how they look in an aquarium than about moving water or polyps. The GYRE look is very cool and gets rid of that powerhead clutter you see in many aquariums.

Here is another video I posted on YouTube, of another GYRE I installed in a rimless SPS cube tank. I have it in a Pulse Wave mode and barely dialled in. It has this 100 gallon cube rocking.

Yes, this is/was the Maxspect Riptide Gyre Generator. They have dropped the "Riptide" part of the name going forward.

Nice! I was reading that they might abandon the alternating gyre and was sad. Nice tyo see it is still an option :D

Skimmin 10-12-2014 05:30 PM

Is it possible to control more then one of these together? I'm designing a new 150 gal peninsula tank and would be interested in trying two mounted vertically on either side of the overflow alternating from one another.

I have not tried that yet but I was informed this was going to be possible. The first batch ships next week and arrives shortly after. I will give you the correct answer as soon as I have it.

Thank you everyone for your patience. :)

Hi Bill,
I'm having trouble finding much information on this. What tank size is the 50w rated for? When do you think you're going to have the 35w?
I only have a 55g... Am thinking the 50w might be a bit too much.
thx,
Margaret

Bill@IA 10-18-2014 03:23 PM

Hello Margaret,

The 50W has a flow rate of 0-5000gph.

A 35W will be release in Dec/Jan. 2015
I'm expecting to see 35W samples end of the month beginning November but production models much later.
A larger 70W model and Batery back up for all models is expected some time in Q1/2015.

Maxspects Facebook Page will also have the latest info: https://www.facebook.com/Maxspect

mseepman 10-29-2014 12:01 AM

At this point my understanding is that the GYRE only operates from the settings through its related controller. (Included)

I believe they were going to have a model that is apex compatible within the next year

That's true but I am not sure how that is being done. It may be an attachment or just some type of minor hardware/software update.

MarkoD 11-03-2014 01:30 PM

Are you sold out or are there more that can be bought?
