You should have seen what UPS did to my Aqualight fixture... the box was all dented up. The fixture was perfectly fine, no dings or anything... but the actinic bulb INSIDE the fixture was smashed while the 10000k bulb was in perfect condition... I'm still scratching my head wondering how the heck that happened, it stumped the guy on the phone over at J&L too. Wish I took a picture. I hope the people you bought that bulb from will replace it for ya.

I had to retrieve a shipment of mushrooms once that they had totally anihilated....quite the process....

I think they saw the Fragile sticker and decided to use the box as a football. That sucks. I was thinking about mail ordering my MH bulb as well.

ouch... all three were broken??
I think the $20 packaging is a little weak. Looks more like $5 and keep the change to me. http://www.muiscontrols.com/ryan/shudder.gif
(Of coarse it doesn't help that the couriers picked your package for there game of footy.)

Had the same problem with Fedex... there is no escaping it. Ask the vendor to wrap the bulb better I guess. I have managed to ship bulbs via ExpressPost and Greyhound successfully.

OUCH i would be screaming right now. I had a halide set-up mailed to me and i had the bulb wrapped in bubble wrap. Boz was a litttle dented on once corner but it loked like it was rubbing against another box. Bulb was fine though.

If you did notice damage to the package and you refused the parcel, what would happen?would it be sent back to sender where they would see the damage and you get replacements?

Maybe support your local shop  , sure spent the time hunting for the cheapist, pay the packaging, freight and then.... is it really worth it?

Hello,

Yeah support your local shop is a good idea. Too much damaged goods from my previous experience too.

The really expensive fragile equipment comes on a crate with a shock meter mounted. If there has been any extreme handling the chemicals will alert the shipper.

supporting the local shop would've costed me an arm and a leg to get these three bulbs as i only paid a third of what it would have costed me buying it at the store. its a very expensive hobby and i'm trying to save as much as i can

thanks venki for sending me the replacement bulbs
