Maxima clams

Just an FYI, a certain fish store on 16 ave east has some beauties. Luckily my wife was with me or I could have easily walked out 500 clams poorer. Dang!

Oh wait, you're in Strathmore. There's a fish store in Strathmore ?

I saw clams, but on Cloverdale. We don't even have a 16th.

TimT 04-06-2014 06:47 PM

I saw clams but there in my tank... LoL

Treebeard 04-07-2014 04:19 AM

Haha. You guys is hilarious.

they're all covered in aiptasia too so perhaps into a qt tank with peppermints would be a good idea initially. they are indeed gorgeous.

I know how to provide my customers with "Clean Clams". One of the advantages of wholesale over transship. ;-)

Well I guess I know where I'm going today.

I bought one in victoria Saturday, what is a good photoperiod for these? I have 2 - 250w metal halides and 2 actinics 72gal bowfront. thanks:idea:

You've got plenty of lighting based on that. I'd say anywhere from 6-14 hours. I'm assuming that your actinics are probably on before and after your MHs, hence the wide number spread.

pinkreef 04-07-2014 03:45 PM

my actinics are on from 7am to 7pm
the mh right now are on timer 730 am to 430 pm
sound ok?

Taipan 04-07-2014 03:56 PM

That sounds fine. Clams - especially bright maximas love the intense light. I would still start the clam off around the periphery before placing it directly under the metal halides. Slowly work your way inwards just like any new addition to your system.

Ok thanks:smile:
