NEXT FRAG SWAP!! my house.. Langley - May 10

Ok guys. I have been tellin people somewhat that i wanna have the next swap at my house.
I have talked to dave at bigshow and he has agreed to donate a few frags for prize draws. I will have a 4x7 frag table that is going to be my frag tank.. it wont be for a couple months. But might as well start planning earlier..

please let me know if you guys are interested
thanks

Ryanerickson 03-19-2014 07:31 PM

Sounds like fun I am in I was going to offer to do it at my house also but Dave's it is look forward to it!

Reef Pilot 03-19-2014 07:40 PM

Sounds good. I am in Langley, so will try to attend,... as long as I am not away.

strider 03-19-2014 07:40 PM

Looking forward to it. :)
Thanks Dave for the frags

Count me in.

I'm not sure the frag tank is such a good idea, unless its for the frag you're selling. The corals never opened in the frag at the last swap, and it increases the chance that it becomes a "pest swap".

Alternatively I suppose you could allow sellers to drop off there frags the day before, if you want to go that route.

You could just encourage sellers to bring a picture of their corals... a prize for the best picture?

Will this be a gear swap as well?

:whoo:sounds good, look forward to it.

Fair enough, if people are worried about that at least there would be tons of real estate for floating bags. Better then frags buried in a cold cooler with no light, pretty tough to view like this.

hillegom 03-19-2014 09:10 PM

Interested to attend

KPG007 03-19-2014 10:12 PM

Sounds good. I'm in.

Tom R 03-19-2014 11:30 PM

Tom R

acepumping 03-19-2014 11:30 PM

Lol. No worries for floating bags.. i have a open 180 gal sump( 6x30"x18"tall)
No shortage of space.. i will have a bbq out front, cooler for beers or whatever you wanna put in plus more. .. its a complex. Ive alrdy told neighbours.. so everything will be a go.. lots of room.. i dont have a date yet.. i will post some pictures too online of the tank..

Canuckgod420 03-20-2014 12:11 AM

the farthest place I've been to get corals is Reef Pilot's place. You need to take a train to get there...lol

What??!....LOL. Did you take the scenic route through central Surrey and downtown Langley? Fastest way is take the 232 St exit off the freeway...

As a reference, takes me 35 min to get to J&L. Or if I take the new South Fraser Perimeter hwy and Pattullo bridge, just 5 min more (not recommended during rush hour, though).

crimper 03-20-2014 04:24 PM

It was a pleasure to meet Walter over the weekend and got some great sps frags. The travel was not bad at all.

I will probably schedule our monthly trip/grocery shopping to Bellingham and drop by at the swap meet. Hope to see you guys out there.

straightrazorguy 03-20-2014 04:52 PM

Great idea! I'd like to come too....

brittanyk 03-20-2014 05:09 PM

Ryanerickson 03-20-2014 06:56 PM

Burnaby to Langley 30 minutes. short drive if you take the correct route

acepumping 03-21-2014 03:13 AM

Actually its 15 minutes from my house to ikea
on border of surrey and langley.. 20187 68th ave langley..
scott. I am going to ask aquattro to do a poll for me to see when we should have the next frag swap.. i will get the top 2 or 3. And pick them according to my schedule lol..
im 10minutes closer to vancouver side then walters house ;)

anyways.. we will figure it.out.. if people want to bring their fish.. i dont mind but it cant enter my frag tank lol.. if someone is willing to help me setup this and also setup a tank for fish. I have no problem with that..

Yeah, if you go the scenic route...

I might be 10 min from your house, but only 5 min from the freeway...

But hey, what's 5 or 10 min. It's the guys in Richmond that should be complaining... They are 45+ min from everywhere... LOL.

Yeah, Langley is actually pretty central.... 20 min to abby, 45 to the wack, and 45 to vancouver or richmond.

2bafish 03-21-2014 03:47 AM

You know I'm in man. We fellow reefers need to meet up more. You need any help setting up let me know. I'm close by.

What's the big deal, it is what it is! people from the Wack, Abby and Langley travel to Burnaby/ Vancouver to frag swaps and I don't remember anybody saying how far it was to travel. :violin:

SeaHorse_Fanatic 03-21-2014 08:31 AM

Well, I'm going to carpool cause I know Scott doesn't drive and I doubt his parents would be cool about going that far just for a frag swap. Maybe on a good day they'd agree. When I head to Langley/Aldergrove, I always try to combine my errands so I'll stop at Oceanic, visit my favourite plant nurseries and go across the border to get cheap gas and fill up my jerry cans as well.

acepumping 03-21-2014 05:30 PM

I just figured that last ones were burnaby and richmond. Now its the valley boys and gals turn
;)

acepumping 03-22-2014 06:54 AM

For those who want to come, please list some suggested dates and no long weekends please lol
