Anemones diet ?
 

Hi reefers i was wondering what do you guys feed your anemone ?

Which one?

- RBTA
- Green Carpet
- Carribean Rock
- Neon tube

RBTA & GBTA and any other anemone
i wanna feed my RBTA a piece of salmon if its safe

You don't need to feed them.

I feed them chunks of shrimp after feeding the eel.

You don't need to feed them but that doesn't mean you can't / shouldn't

i just gave about a penny size salmon fish to my RBTA

We feed our BTA's silversides.

When we notice they start loosing the bubbles on their tips we know its feeding time. :)

I feed my RBTAs whole raw shrimp about one every 2 weeks or so. They are growing like crazy.

Wouldn't you rather have more space for other cool corals?

I am regretting having 2 huge RBTAs actually haha. Maybe time to sell one.

lol i kept like as big as a softball size fresh salmon but i sold my tank today :( mo more RBTA
im thinking to get a carpet anemone purple one got a 65g red sea now :) if the carpet anemone would be okay in there

I feed nothing to my rbta ( split from one giant one to 4 - sold one, have 3 remaining) and green bubble tip nems (started with one, now probably 9 - 11 of them)... they seem to thrive just on light alone... all in a Red Sea max 34 gallon tank.

Carpet nem: gets either silversides, raw shrimp, or mysis
RBTA: sometimes gets pieces of raw shrimp or mysis, it doesn't enjoy eating as much as my carpet nem
tube nem: mysis and pieces of chopped raw shrimp
rock nem: mysis or pieces of chopped raw shrimp

Can't seem to get my rbta to eat much of anything. Just doesn't get hungry but it has great color and the tissue seems very healthy, doesn't bubble up though. My carpet nem on the other hand... I could empty a whole bag of shrimp into it if I wanted. That thing eats and eats and eats. The rock nem is pretty selective about when it wants to eat. I think it probably gets a lot of fauna from the sand as well as pellets etc. dropping from heaven. My tube nem eats like you'd think a ballerina would, so graceful and gently. It picks a mysis out of the water and slowly puts it in its mouth.

Do I need to feed them? I dunno. Do I like feeding them? Yep! And they seem to like it too.

I started feeding my nems but then got this....

and copious amounts of anemone poop, so I am going to go a little lighter on the feeding.
