Stupid urchin
I thought my clowns had quit laying eggs for some reason. I seen last week she was eating like crazy and pretty large again. Sure enough she layed a batch and they were tending them that night when I last seen them.
Next day when I look, they are having a fit, even {or so its seemed}, looking to me for help. My stupid urchin was in their pipe, eating for all its worth. Not my blue tuxedo but the larger version. Poor clowns were helpless against it. He never moved for several days, I assume eating eggs until they were all gone. Guess who is next to be "all gone"... |
That's too bad Doug.
Were you going to see if you could raise the fry? |
|
A timely end, but it would not pass the "sight" test for me

hate urchins, pokey annoying creatures, knocking things over all the time and killed our copperband butterfly...get rid of it lol snails do just as good a job as urchins do without the bs lol
|
I love my tuxedo urchin but I can see why so many people have a hate affair with urchins.

Just traded in my urchin. The one with thick red stubby "spines". It mostly went around eating coraline algae.
|
I buy small urchins, let them roam around and mow things down till theyre big and trade them back in. lol.

I've grown quite fond of my longspine, we've become friends
He also doesn't pick anything up. Pretty sure he did stab my slightly territorial diamond goby in the mouth when first put him in though...the fish started to eat again after a few weeks so its all good. Sea Urchins. Gotta love 'em. |
Mine is now living the dream in Concepts aquarium.
