Would you like to see a public aquarium in Edmonton ?
Random question time.
What do the members of Canreef think of Edmonton getting a public aquarium ? An actual good one that shows its self in a respectful and proud fashion, something perhaps a bit better than the "aquarium" at West Edmonton Mall. |
Of course!
|
Absolutely
|
Sure. But the chances are slmost zero this will ever happen.
As a tax payer... I already get dinged for enough. And I doubt an individual will fork over the hundreds of thousands to do it correctly themselves. So yes. It would be great. But I don't see it happening anytime soon. |
I love your positivity

I'm for a privatized business doing so. But not on the tax payer dollar. Sorry Prot. :P PS. I voted yes. |
I voted "no" because I'd rather see a public aquarium in Calgary! The REAL capital of Alberta.
But in principle we agree that there is an opportunity for a public aquarium in Alberta. |

Omg I damn near ****ed myself. Haha But really I take the hobby of being a reefer to the full extent;) |
Hahah !
We just need to get some billionaires really interested in the hobby, anyone know Brett Wilson well? |
|
Edmonton already has the Muttart, which is awesome, and Calgary the zoo.
So let's compromise and put it in the middle. RED DEER, WE'RE LOOKING AT YOU. Oh wait, isn't there already a reedonkulously big aquarium in Red Deer? We just need to make it publicish now. PARTY AT THE GRIZZ'S !!! Wooty! |

I don't know how many of you Albertan's remember when in the '80's there was a big push to get a public aquarium started in Edmonton there was a petition and everything going around the province only reason I remember was living in Red Deer at the time but it never got very far due to the enoroumous cost of building and startup and there was a huge furor over the dolphins at WeM(when wasn't there a furor over them) so it fell off the map
Personally I would love to see a public aquarium in Alberta but somebody has to be willing to take the risk of investment |
