Light upgrade
Well I'm done with the radion and back to halides
Looking at lights I am planning on a lumetek ballast and Hamilton cabo sun reflector. Is mogul or DE better and y Tank is 24"x24"x12" sps only. Is a 250w to much. |
No kidding.
Why did you decide to ditch the Radion? |
Good choice. You should be fine with 250w. I'd probably go 10" off water line.

Color, growth I joined the cool club and while I do see benifits of led Im just not getting what I want from them and while I spose you could say mitras, radion pro or hybrid the halide is proven and still used buy the best of the best growers. RR,tyree, cherry, cornbred. I buy there corals because if there colors. I want to retain there colors Quote:
Of coarse I'd want a radium but people are squeaking about the phoenix and the aquamaxx bulbs I only used geissmann and aqua medic before didn't care for the latter |

Everything I read about radiums was on the 400. Not much on the 250
Ill def look into the Phoenix |
Might want to look at a Ushio 14K.
My favorite DE 250watt bulb. |
:pop2:

I run a 250w Radium (Mogul) and have been for years off of a Sunlight Supply HQI Ballast running to spec and love the color., so do my corals
|
Are the radiums still easy to find? I recall lastlight having a hell of a time sourcing radiums for his previous 404.

After trying double ended and mogul , the best bulb I have found for colour and growth without additional lighting such as T5 etc. , is EVC mogul 14,000 k. Do a google search on the bulb and see what people other than myself say about it.

Where did you find them |
Well it's ordered
Vertex 250 ballast and a lumenarc pendant. Starting with mega chrome 21k. As i like blue tanks and wont be running antinics. 2 weeks and counting. |
Exciting!

I here ya!
Harvey at marine aquaria stated that you don't see people going back to halides. Haha. Although tried and true the true believers never left halides. |
