How long should I wait?
HMy 180 gl tank has completed its cycle! Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates all at 0 for a week now. I have diatoms and green algae has started to show up so I have added 25 snails. How long should I wait to transfer fish, inverts (shrimp and crabs) and corals from my 55 gl tank over? I also have a clam, I know they need more established systems, so I'm worried about transfering him. I have used water from the 55 to complete a water change on the 180 but its such a difference in systems I'm sure its had little impact. All suggestions welcome!

I transferred my 90 into the 180 the day I filled it, clam included. If you've finished cycling, today is probably good :)

Let get transfering.

I love it when I get the answers I was hoping for!! Have to finish aquascaping and will move everything this weekend! Boss would be not impressed if I left work to deal with fish stuff! Thankyou!

That the problem with being self employed boss dos'nt mind when you leave to do fish stuff. But productivity goes down

Yay! I can't wait for the pics!!!

Give'er on the transfer
I saved water from my old tank and used it while filling new. I saved 100 gallons lol. I waited one week only because I thought I may not be happy with rock work. But anyways I transfer one week to the day with 5 clams and a boatload of coral |
pics!
