New Custom Mounting Brackes for Aqua Illuminations LEDs and EcoTech Radion

New on our website today is our custom LED mounting brackets for AI Sol, Nano, Vega and EcoTech Radions. Hang those LEDs in style with these cool brackets available in Black, White and Silver and customizable for your tank.

These will be listed for $75 however there will be $65 introductory sale price for the next 2 weeks :) http://www.modularled.ca/custom-hanging-bracket/

See below for pictures. I dont have any Radion pictures yet but also available for those.

Credit goes to nanomano for the inspiration and The Grizz for well everything else :)
  • Each bracket is customisable in width and height and can be futher adjusted once installed.
  • Swivel head so your fixture can be orientated both short side front and long side front.
  • Each bracket comes with 3 positioning holes for further adjustment of the LED fixture placement.
  • Made from 1 inch square steel to support the heaviest loads.
  • Power cables can be hidden inside the bracket for some LED models.
  • Available in a variety of colors.

How to calculate size:
  • Width: The width of your bracket is the distance over your tank from the back of your stand plus 3/8 inch for the mounting plate to the nearest inch.
  • Height: The heigh if your brackket is the height of your tank + the height the fixture will hang above your tank plus 2 inches for the mounting plate (you may wish to add a few inches to the height for adjustment).

dont forget my 7% for the designing ;) just kidding

I'm loving mine so far, though we may have to incorporate some plugs for the base of the arm that seal the tube once the wire is in, to avoid any moisture getting inside

How do these attach to the stand and what kind of weight can they support. If I wanted to have one come up on the right side of my tank to hold two radions over a 4' tank would this be possible?

How do you move the fixture front-to-back? Do you need to move the bolt into a new position or does it slide?

Nano 02-14-2012 06:28 PM

they mount directly to the back of the stand, I mounted mine to the 2x4 frame for support. I'm not sure how much weight, I think that depends on how well you mount it, mine can support about 40lbs but thats all I checked. I used 3/8" lagg bolts to secure it to the stand along with washers

My problem is I dont have much space behind the tank because of a c2c external overflow and I need both lights to be balance over the tank. I also have a small metal stand with not much to attach to. Maybe I need to talk to Grizz about a custom job.

This idea looks like the same thing Brad did. I believe lastlight did something similar as well. When I had my stand built I had the sleves incorporated into the stand so I had the option of hangers too.

It's a great idea non the less.

same idea, just tweaked I suppose. so far I'm finding it very functional, and clean! and since mine was the prototype/original design, now Greg can probably tweak that to suit just about anyones needs :)
