Question re Vortech reliability

For those who have owned a Vortech for more than a year:

Have you had problems with the pumps breaking down and requiring repair or replacement of any of their components?

I have two, one I have had for over a year. Have never had any problems with either.
* knock on wood. *

Same here. I have two and no problems.

Its unanimous, get one.

My MP20 is just over a year old & nothing has gone wrong apart from the fact that it's got slightly noisier over time. Nothing too drastic but noticeable when compared to a new pump. The extra noise seems to come from the side.

It still works 100% & I'm happy with it. So happy that I've bought a MP40w ES & also have an upgrade on order with J&L to convert the MP20 into an MP40w.

I can honestly say that there are issues, but I see a lot more than most hobbiest.

Small issues, like a bad power cable, or a driver's firmware needing to be upgraded.

As for pumps, the mechanical parts are solid, and have yet to replace one for any customer.

I have had mine for close to a year now and knock on wood I have had no problems. It will need regular cleaning like all pumps do, which is extremely easy. You can't beat the flow from these versatile pumps.

Only problem I have had is with the magnet on the wet side. But that was a first generation unit and the gen 2's have rectified that issue.

I have 4 of them and i've been kind of hard on the drive shafts, I've had to replace 2 because I keep stripping the threads....I do have to clean often them because of coralline build up though
