Do you know if this can be used against macro algaes like caulerpa?

Zoaelite 06-16-2010 11:09 PM

Does the product effect dinoflaggelets? Have any long term studies been done on it's effect's?

Effective on hair algae? I've gone though 2 Sea Hares and a buckets worth of salt for water changes and I still can't get rid of it.

How will it affect my system since I'm using Zeovit for my tank (to try to clean up some of the bad bacteria) at the same time?

I have read good reviews on most Algaes but have no idea how it would effect Dinos, I would suggest that everyone read through the Reef Central post and research what other people's experiences are.

think I read in that thread bugs and macro are not really effected but can slow the macro growth -guess mangroves would be the same i got some of those - some stuff about the biopellets/carbon that people were looking at. Id be interested in trying it -what are the volumes used /gal on the label so I could have enough sent up?- looks like it takes around 5 or more doses to work then weekly doses for spore growth. inverts unaffected by it although not sure about all types of inverts. long thread - not through it all yet

Apparently this Algaefix is not legal for sale in Canada, someone kindly mentioned this to us. Knowing this fact we will not be importing any more of this product.

:scared:

WHAT??? dang! And here I thought you guys were the leader in "black market" retail

On a more serious note, do you know why it is illegal here in Canada?

Black market because distributors charge to much? YES!
Black market illegal? NO

Apparently the product is MFG in Canada but cannot be sold here due to the active ingredient not approved for use in our industry. It is legal in the U.S. and has been for a long time; however, the Canadian "sale" laws on this get in the way......
