Canreef Site down?
Has anybody been experiencing website access problems in the last few days?
|
I've had problems the last few days also. I use firefox and every now and again I can get on with IE and not with firefox.
|
I have. Its hit or miss if I get on or not. What I do is reset my modem and clean the files off the PC. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn`t. When I do get on I don`t close the window and it stays up.

If I type in www.canreef.com, I sometimes get the error "cannot find server", but if I type in http://216.187.96.54/modules/Active_Topics/index.php,
I always connect. (I don't actually type that in, but I have bookmarked it) Mitch |
Same here, hit and miss.

This is an indication that there are DNS server issues, or the DNS servers are down. All domains run on top of an actual IP address, however not all websites have their own unique IP. Most sites out there are on virtual hosting, which means they share the ip address and then it is up to the web server to determine where to go based on the domain name. So in that case using an IP address like you do above would not work. I have also noticed canreef up and down quite a bit. Guys if you need help let me know, this is what I do for a living. |

I think Titus knows what is going on, at least he did the last time it was down for a length of time. Every night the site goes off line for a few minutes for maintenance (very early in the morning 4am I think) but for some reason whatever makes it go "back online" doesn't happen so it stays offline until it either gets resolved or someone manually does it. I'll let Titus know its happening again.
