My new Warner Marine skimmer!
I've never been a big believer in skimming the snot out of one's system so I've always stuck to skimmers which probably slightly undersized for my system such as a ER CS6-2 or my old Tunze venturi skimmer. But I've always wanted to see what a monster skimmer would or could do and I've always wanted to try a recirc skimmer. Well, now I have both in the form at a Warner Marine RX200!
It's a big sucka (please excuse the dirty laundry). Gonna have to do some reconstuctive sump surgery to shoehorn this guy in. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...u/IMG_5921.jpg Sexy removable bubble plate. Note the machined concave holes. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...u/IMG_5922.jpg Close up on the sch80 fittings. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...u/IMG_5923.jpg Needlewheel in the sedra 9000HO. The exit has been bored out. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...u/IMG_5924.jpg Tiny bubbles during initial cleaning with water and vinegar http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...u/IMG_5931.jpg Even with just vinegar and water the skimmer produces a very stable foam head http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...u/IMG_5929.jpg Going to put it to work in the next few days as soon as I get some spaflex from McKenzie (thanks, dude) |
Sweeeeeeet! Did that come with the modified Sedra 9000HO?

Nice skimmer!!!! I was reading up on them on another site and was quite interested in one....where did you get it?
|
Where did you get it from?
Cheers, Vic |
X3....where did you get that? I was just telling J&L that they should bring WM in.
|
x4 ... I've been bugging some of my LFS's that already sell other Warner Marine products but no skimmers have shown up as yet.
|
hopefully Jeff from J&L is paying attention to this forum too then!!

I actually got it direct from Warner Marine. I had been bugging Jon Warner himself about getting a Canadian distributor when he offered this skimmer up to be the first one in Canada. I leapt at the opportunity and he pretty much sold it to me at wholesale. To be clear (and to Warner's credit) the skimmer came with no strings attached so I can report on it any way I wish.
Warner Marine does not to direct retail so this was a very exceptional circumstance - I guess I got lucky being the most annoying Canadian. :) However, Jon did say that they are working on getting their skimmers up to Canada so you should see them hitting our stores soon. |
