does anyone know where i can get the above mentioned product this time of year as it is not canning season i dont see it at co-op,safeway or walmart. please let me know if you know.

Hello,
I was told that pickling lime is a banned food additive in Canada and that is why you can't find it here. I think your best bet is to get someone over the border to ship it up to you.

Thats odd i just looked at a jar of pickles i bought yesterday and it has calcium hydroxide listed on the ingrediants. hmmm curious to find out for sure. :confused: :confused:

Jon I've emailed the guy I met up in Edmonton who had scored some pickling lime and asked him where he got it. Hopefully it was mail-order or something and it's some place we can get it from as well. I'll let you know.

If we need to buy it in bulk you can count me in for some too.

Not likely. It's not a product found in Canada. I think it's available as some product in some Asian stores, but unless you can read Chinese, you might be out of luck.
