anenome missing

i come home today after a day is christmas shopping to find (i guess you could say not to find) my green and orange tip anenome is gone!!!!!!! it was there when i left the house now it is not..... its host clown keeps swimmong in the samw spot where it last was. and i can not find him anywhere..... ive looked everywhere short of tearing apart the rock work......... i have no predators in my tank that i know of.... any body have any ideas on what could have happened?

Hiding under a rock. Could be stressed or could be splitting. How was the colour? bleeched at all?

demon666 12-18-2005 11:46 PM

the color was great.... no bleaching at all. will they hide compleatly when they split and for how long?

I would strongly suspect it has decided to move. You probably won't like its new spot, but they seem to think they know best. They often move into powerheads. You can hope that was not the case.

ok it has been .......... i dont know 4 hours since i posted this and the stupid thing has surfaced...... right in the samw spot it disappeared from..... but it looks much smaller now.

Keep an eye out for a second one then...

demon666 12-19-2005 03:45 AM

really it only takes like 4 hours for them to split? i thought it would be a day or 2 process?

OCDP 12-20-2005 02:07 PM

I doubt it has split, if it's in the same spot it was before all this happened. My guess.. if the rock it's placed it's foot in has a nice hole or crack in it, the anemone most likely shrunk right up to re-inflate itself. My guess..
