Beckett noise

Anyone know how to stop a beckett injector that rattles like no tomorrow? I mkeen it totaly hides the sound of a Mak4. If not i guess i am in need of a new one.

Thanks folks!!!

Are you talking about the sound of the air going into the injector

Jack 02-11-2005 02:42 AM

Rob,

It's a common problem with beckett injectors to have this happen, more so on stronger pumps, but luckly it's an easy fix.

Get some teflon tape and break off a 2" piece roll it like thread and wind that around the two "arms" of the beckett. This keeps the "rocket" from rattling back and forth in the housing.

I hope that makes sense.

Jack did the teflon tape trick to mine and it's been silent ever since

worked like a charm!

Now just if i can replace the Mak4 with a quieter pump or find a way to make it a bit less rumbler :)

Thanks Jack!

Hey Rob, if you do get a newer pump (down the road) and want to get ride of the mak..... I can think of a good home

you got it :)

I just dont know if there is a pressure rated pump that is quieter than the mak. Its not overly loud but with the wifes desk 3 feet from it.....

It is the only thing left on my tank that makes any noise. I am thinking of making a housing for it lined with carpet padding. I fan add a can to remove any hot air around it as well so the heat doesnt go into my water instead.

Blueline pumps are soposed to be wicked quiet

Jack 02-11-2005 11:34 PM

In the pressure rated class Bluelines are quieter than Mak and Iwaki, IME.
