Did anyone else catch the reef aquarium on How It's Made on the Discovery Channel? I just saw it, it was pretty good for only a few minutes! :mrgreen:

to bad they used a swc skimmer

I noticed that too - made me cringe.

I'm kinda partial to the term "ocean potion" myself although I think I'll use it in terms of the skimmate instead of the salt

Haha you guys are total reef geeks. :p Shows like this one (and Tanked) are not aimed at hobbyists. I thought they did a great job of simplifying it.

What is the problem with swc skimmers?

Thats what I was about to ask!!! Ive been running SWC for years and they are nothing short of amazing.

I run an extreme 250 S2 right now and it's amazing.

It's not the skimmer as such as much as it is the company that made the skimmer and the illegal activities they where caught doing that shames the hobby
