Mostly manual removal... however. I used biological warfare against the dinos. I had a red slime out break. The first time I removed it, i noticed the dinos reduced. So I let it get way out of control intentionally as I found it was stronger and more resistant than the dinos and choked out their light source. About once a month I siphoned the Slime out and each time the dinos were lessened. Maybe the slime was a result of dying dinos, but I dont care. It worked and I see a tank in the future again |
Hi Paddy have you though of using a shop vac to clean up those annoying dinosaurs? My kids constantly throw those everywhere and I found when I sucked them up I never seen them again. Shop vacs also work great for slimy messes you don't want to clean up with a rag.
Another alternative would be a wife that forces you to shut down your tank. But that's a whooole different ballpark. I hope this helps with your problem because I like to help out where I can. |

A tank in the future perhaps? |
Yeah I'm still kicking around. I'm a single dad now so my children have taken up pretty much all my time. Surprisingly I still have all my equipment and even dried my LR. In the future I would love to do another tank but for now it's just going to be stored. I came to a conclusion not to sell because I have everything, why get rid of it!?

It's at 95%. Not sure if the remaining algae is Dino or if its actually hair. No bubbles. No stringy ****e. No slime. Just skinny hairy stuff. |
