Wow you two, keep them coming. Those look fantastic!

Der_Iron_Chef 10-11-2007 03:53 AM

This isn't an unusual coral or anything, but I like this shot nonetheless. It's difficult for me to see the polyps without taking a macro shot:

Thanks, I believe it's Montipora venosa. It's really starting to colour up so I'll post an updated pic asap.

Dennis had already committed a piece to me several weeks before they arrived.

Hadn't planned on it but...... I might be able to do a very small piece of that Montipora capitata & maybe I can do one of the tri-colour too but....I actually have a waiting list for those so best to just shoot me a pm and we'll talk.

Chowder 10-15-2007 12:24 AM

One of my more favorite pieces right now.

Delphinus 10-15-2007 03:33 AM

Neat photo. Have you any close up shots of the zoos or palys to the bottom right? And what is it that I see just up and to the left of the zoos (between the zoos and the stag, a smallish patch of porites maybe? The neat thing is that they look blue.)

Chowder 10-15-2007 04:30 AM

They were from a shipment of zoas from Africa I got from OA and the blue thing is a red with blue dot mushroom.

I had a small wild colony of this early last year and when it RTN'd last summer I was only able to frag one little 1/4 inch nub that I have been nursing. It is finally starting to take off so I have high hopes for it. Not exactly sure what colour it will get to be but I am confident it is a Acropora batunai. It isn't very common, has very thin, delicate branches & it is my favorite today for sentimental reasons.

Delphinus 10-15-2007 06:20 PM

Very exquisite lavender highlights on that one. Very nice.

Chowder 10-15-2007 06:39 PM

Very nice piece. It will be interesting to see what it will look like when it fully colors up.

marie 10-15-2007 11:55 PM

Here's one that is colouring up nice...thanks Anthony

Of all your pics on photobucket, that is my favourite photo.

Edit although the pic comes up huge :surprise:

Snappy 10-17-2007 06:16 AM

coming to life

A wild Australian monti I got a while back that is finally starting to smarten up.
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ssiemonti1.jpg

Here is a frag of the frag that I got in that Oct 2005 Ultimate frag Calgary group order fiasco (anybody remember that one?) It eventually started to rtn so I fragged a crumb and it has now come to life 2 years later. So far it's a funky green/pink combo.

Der_Iron_Chef 10-17-2007 01:36 PM

More stunning corals, Greg! I'm wondering when you're going to run out of new corals to show us :D

The wild Australian Monti...is it green or yellow, with purple polyps? Looks pretty cool. Subtle but very pretty.

Chowder 10-17-2007 03:45 PM

Nice pieces Greg.

IceTurf 10-17-2007 03:51 PM

simply stunning.
