That's what I originally thought. But I guess zeo does nothing fort phosphates, so that's why the Gfo is there

Yep, still running zeo. Needless to say I didn't do my research. The LFS suggested it running 1/2 lb passively and within a day or 2 30% of my SPS had burnt tips. They are still recovering with dead tips....argh. The cyano started when I had 12 little fire fish disappear on me while I was away, and my T5's were pushing 1.5 years old but I didn't want to buy new bulbs cause I new I was going to DIY my less to replace the T5s. But I had huge problem with my DIY supplier and it took over 2 months to finally get all my parts in, and I probably waited a month before getting around to building the lights. That's what I attribute the cyano to. I'm just happy it's getting better daily....woo hoo. Wes, your tank must be full to the brim now.

I actually just started using more last month and no bad effects... And that's with full zeo. It's good to hear that things are looking up for you. I half expected your next update to be all softies from the way that you were selling colonies.

New Full tank shot (about 5 mins ago). I am not kidding.

Yeah my tank was there until I also had a run of bad luck. The auto feeder fell in while we were away and the food and electronics didn't do wonders. Then the hydrant leaked in the front yard so they dug up my whole front yard, next water change I watched 17 colonies melt :(

Ugh, I hate bad luck. Hope that your tank recovery is going well. Winter is here, so it's time to spend, I mean "throw" money at our tanks anyway :)

I don't remember them saying specifically DO NOT run GFO, but I know that they said it is pointless. I disagree with them, and I know that lots of people still run gfo with zeo. I'll be reducing the amount that I use once I get around to swapping my Zeoliths.

Want any mushroom frags? I have lots :)

doch 11-16-2011 02:27 AM

No thanks... I have one small group of mushrooms that I bought for Vanessa in my tank ... I regularly envision zapping them with an aiptasia zapper.
