Mike I was pulling chunks from a lifeless tank of dry rock. I expect RESULTS soldier tune that skimmer!
Intake nozzle should be all the way shut then open one full turn to align the dots. How I gave it to you though. Then turn the standpipe yadda yadda. I'm sure you've done all this. FWIW I never used vinegar to clean it I just ran the thing. Maybe you're vigorous cleaning will mean it needs to break in I'm not sure. |

Well I got bored and ened up taking some fish and rock out of my tank i took out the Pj cardinals hated them what a ugly boring fish. Put them in the sump, well the BK had a lunch of one of them . then I found a anthias getting beaten up so out he went to the SPCA fish care place AKA DOUG's tank. thanks Doug.
Then I still have a Lammerick Angel that i dont want, so Off to Doug's place once I get the fish out of the tank. now since he is going to be out tonight I hope with all the less rock its going to be alot easier now. Here is a picture of the tank with the rock in there and and I have taken out 1 of the MH in the Middle. oh ya I have 4 clowns in there now . BEFORE http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...L/DSC03777.jpg AFTER I really like the After now I have the middle for the SPS and the sides for the LPS and clams so far. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...L/DSC04313.jpg I still have a 30 gal tub full to the rim with LIVe rock just need to figure out how to run this on the tank, with out using my sump since the BK is in the sump and now room for the rock. ANy idea's how??????? http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...DSC04316-1.jpg crappy blurry one there sorry http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...L/DSC04314.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...L/DSC04315.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...DSC04318-1.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...DSC04319-1.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...L/DSC04320.jpg |
have your tub between the tank and the sump have the tank drain into the tub and cut a slot and create your own overflow or drill it so it drains into your sump :)
|
Looks Great Mike. I like the new aquascape! Love the pic of the goby under the clam...cute! And that looks like one gorgeous Sailfin!
|
wow that clam is there look HUGE! love the rock work in your tank too
|
this is what i have to work with
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...L/DSC03778.jpg |
whats the tub look like :p
|
its a purple rubbermaid bin.
|
anware you can mount it that you could T off the drain from your tank some into the rubber maid then drill the bottom or middle of it?
only other option would be to get another pump and pump it into your sump or tank after a T off from the drain is what im thinking |
Quote:
Can you have a shelf higher than your sump or display (not necessarily above) for the rubbermaid? Tee off the return pump or separate pump to feed, gravity return back. |
Mark i was thinking of that actually, having the rubbermaid tub almost the height of the tank but have the water from the overflow box go in to the tub then from the tub to the sump where the skimmer would sort it out and then off to the return. however the all therock would get messy from the overflow water. And i would have to try and lower the sump, due to its beign elevated from the floor. I really like having the sump high so its easier to clean the sump out.
|
you dont need high flow do you? you can pick a low flow pump up for like $70-$100 and have it t off the drain with a valve to work on the flow
|
What's this... Downgrading. Come on. LOL
Looks good Mike but like Mark said I thought it looked good before. |
