Is there a reason why each dosing cycle is limited to 300 seconds? I dose my alk with Aqualifter pumps. A little more time would be better. I guess I could dose in 2 cycles.
Any sneak peeks of what your developing for a dosing pump for the controller? |
when are dimable halide ballasts common are way?
|
Every body has received their replacement powerbars ,except we tried to make arrangement for hidden reef to pick them up ,unfortunately Mike was swamped all week he told me he is going to pick them up this week.
So hopefully be soon. |
@ Reefer Bob:
It is not really limited. There are 2 options: 1. Use operation mode "normal" and not "dosing". There you can dose 24h if you want. The disadvantage for mode "normal" is the resolution of 1 minute instead of 1 second. 2. Dose up to 8 times one day. Maximum in mode "dosing" would be 8x5 minutes. Dosing pumps: Coming soon - we are prototyping at the moment. |
I don't know what I was thinking  of course it's better to dose alk 2 or 3 times a day.
Look forward to seeing the doser. Hopefully it will be a double or triple for use with the Balling Method. |
Can you please program all my orders for my UK clients to ENGLISH please before sending

has anyone updated to firmware 3.0 for they`r new powerbar.I have a Mac and no PLM-USB so I think my new digital powerbar is rendered useless. Is that true for Macs
|
i have not updated yet, i just picked up my new powerbar today, was hoping to get 3 of them but they are in extremely short supply. jason if you read this i need 2 more. i havent hooked the powerbar up yet but i want to have a day to myself so i can do the firmware update, install the powerbars and try again at getting the WLAN to work. i havent tried the WLAN again because if i disconnect the controller for the setup everything shuts down. i'm not quite sure what you mean by the PLM-USB
|
Yes Colin
We have asked Matthias for more powerbars ,so should be next order . Hockey sauce ,we also have RS232 to USB connection which will solve your problem . Mike should be here either tomorrow or monday I will ask him to pick one up for you Regards Jason |
@honkey sauce:
For the update our programme "ProfiLuxControl II" must be used. It runs on Windows-PCs only. Do you have a Windows-Emulation for your Mac? Just some days ago another customer told me hat updated his ProfiLux on a Mac successfully with a emulator and a RS232<->USB-converter. Or does your Mac has a RS232-interface? Then it is absolutely no problem. Please keep in mind: In any case our PC<->ProfiLux connection cable must be used. If it is not possible to update with your Mac: Maybe you can ask someone with a Windows-PC to make the update there. The update is done in some minutes. @Jason: We can produce some more powerbars before next shipping, you will receive a mail in some minutes regarding this. |
Combo Redox/ORP Card...
I'm having trouble understanding how to connect the ORP and Redox probes to the combo card and get a reading on the display. Anyone that can help with this? I have the wireless kit...Thank you, Scott
Ok..Figured the above out on my own by trial and error. Took a while but got the setup complete. Now on to the next issue...communication. Need help with connecting via serial and then via wireless. I connected the serial cable to my notebook computer but the connection is not being made between the Windows notebook and the controller. Is there an option on the Profilux that I need to turn on in order for the computer to identify the controller and vice versa? The software has been loaded and I'm not getting a link between the 2 devices. |
i have the exact same issue but with a desktop. if you go back a few pages bigblue made a step by step direction on how to get it to work. personally i have not had the time to try it but its very straight forward by the sounds of it. keep us informed on your progress

Sorry guys but I was referring to the serial connection. I saw the LAN setup. If you have any info on that then that would be a great help. Thank you.

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Scott
first of all: did you select the correct COM-Port? The device address should be 1, the baudrate needs not to be changed. You can set it up after clicking the button "...", please see attachment. Did you use our connection cable (ProfiLuxSer)? Does you PC have a RS232 port or do you use Serial-USB-converter? Regards Matthias |

P.S. I sent you an email last week from Aquarium Specialty. Did you get it? |
Hi,
the baudrate is in standard 9600 - in ProfiLux and in the PC-program. There is no need to change it. COM-Port is OK?? For example the COM-Port of my notebook is 3 (check it with the windows device manager). I had to change it from 1 to 3. I got no mail. |
Ok. That helped. Now connected to the controller via serial. Now for the WLAN connection. Hopefully I can figure that one out from the 9 pg WLAN guide I printed out...will let you know. For those of you having trouble connecting via serial here is a step by step for beginners and those who don't know how to get to the place where you change the COM settings on your PC or Notebook. The instructions are for XP Pro computers.
Right click on the my computer icon on your desktop Select "manage" Open "ports" in list by changing the + to - Double click on com port Select the port setting tab Click on the advanced button From the drop down menu change port setting to Com1 and click Ok. Reopen the manage tool to make sure COM1 is now the default for the computer. Next make sure the Profilux is set to COM1 for the serial connection by going into the EXTRAS menu. Once this is done reopen the Profilux software from your PC or Notebook and it should work like a charm. Hope this helps those who are a little PC challenged... |
Hi Scott,
thanks for your instructions, i think they will help other users. And there is an easier way: It is not neccessary to change the PC's COM-Port-number in the device manager. As i described above you can change the COM-Port in ProfiLuxControl: Click the button "..." next to "Connect" and do the correct settings, please see my attachment "Connections.dat" above. One thing i don't understand: "Next make sure the Profilux is set to COM1 for the serial connection by going into the EXTRAS menu" - but: there you can set the device address, not the COM-Port. The device address can remain "1". ->it is not neccessary to alter this setting - just edit the COM-Port under "Connections" in ProfiLuxControl. |
I have an English debugged version of the LAN/WLAN tutorial if anyone wants a copy, i got one of our support guys to work on it today.
Sent the copy back to you today matthias, hope it is of help to you All the best Michael |
i'd like a copy if you dont mind michael
|
I would like a copy as well please. I'm trying to get my WLAN card up and running also.
Many thanks... |
I would also like a copy. I havent done any more that look at mine but should have time to play with it soon.
Scott |
Ok best thing to do is pm me with your email addresses i can then fire it off to you all in one hit.
I tried uploading it here but the file is too big. i will have a go and transfer it to PDF and have another go later as it is 8am over here and you guys will be still snoring away!! In the mean time as i said drop me some pms and i will do a bulk send, just let me know you got it just in case it end up a spam sandwich in your bulk forlder  |
wow, seems like alot of people still having issues with setting up the WLAN. that sucks
|
I dont think the issues go any further than getting the set up correct.
Remember WLAN is not for the feint hearted and does take quite a bit of setting up no matter what the product is. The English Debug instructions will help i am sure, and remember Matthias is on hand to help every step. I cant add the file here as it is too big even PDF but I am emailing it out on request. |
Ok give this a go. I have it uploaded elsewhere, this link will take you to and only to the PDF file
http://www.phishybusiness.co.uk/boar...e=post&id=1722 Regards Michael |
Thank-you for this upload. I will give it a go and let you know how I make out.
cheers... AQ |
I would rather not know how you make out  Let me know how you get on with the tutorial by all means.
means something entirely different in the UK that little gem  |
Thanks for the debugged tutorial.
Scott |
No probs, i have another one on the way also, once sorted i will upolad the same way

Tutorial for WLAN setting with router
Here my update (german/english) for the ones who are using a router in the WLAN and have the newest firmware (6.3.0.2) on the WLAN card. You can download it from my homepage (using the link tutorial at the bottom of the page) http://homepage.hispeed.ch/Waldkatze.../BtNindex.html.
More or less you can use the tutorial also for older firmware versions when you want to set up your WLAN card with a router in your network. |
Where can I get the newest firmware for the WLAN card (6.3.0.2) and how do I install it?
Many thanks... AquaCan |
