The Colours are richer and I am seeing different colours on the corals that I have not noticed before... The colour separation are amazing... here is pic of several different types of zoos...

I am coming over!

I still like the Radions and I intend to keep the ones I already have for my upcoming "garage" tank... I am very impressed with what I have seen so far of the Mitras and IMO definitely worth the $ ( at least for me).

Dunno about te 26th or the 27th...Chinese New Year and tied up with my sons' activities next week... How about the 9th of Feb? This will give me time to build a stand for the 90 and get the new lights hooked up...

LOL... Should be a holiday for you folks on the Mainland. :twised:
Not certain if I have a dinner at my folks... We usually do... But I think I can get out of it on the 26th... I can pick you guys up at the terminal.

Sample DSLR pics with GHL Mitras

The new lights are not hooked up yet (probably wont be able to until after next week) but I just couldn't resist taking some new pics with the new lights... These new lights are definitely the right set of lights for my tank and my camera. Compared to previous pics I find the Mitras make the pictures come out even warmer than before, much like taking pics of corals under T5s...

Thanks. I currently have 3 Radions above the tank. Hope to have the Mitras up soon! I am in process of planning my second tank in the garage. Once the 2nd tank is up the main display will be going through a change... Stay tune...

Rice Reef 02-02-2013 12:29 AM

Not much to update but I was thinking of strawberry shortcake today so it made me think about the SSC frags in my tank so I took a few iPhone pics of them...
http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psa99f86e1.jpg
This frag is now two yrs old and it is finally starting to come alive!

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...pse5ab881a.jpg
This one is from Snappy and has a fancy name like purple poison SC or something like that... Starting to see green purple and pink!

At this rate of growth they won't be any bigger than a mini colony when I am 80. :twised:

Bblinks 02-02-2013 12:50 AM

Wayne, that ssc sure is coming alive. Can't believe that's year of growth. Love to hate it.

Yep it is definitely a love hate relationship. How are your SSC and what are the growth rates like?

Skimmerking 02-02-2013 02:37 AM

retarded lights you have man and the SPS are sick too love you tank .

Xadieu 02-02-2013 06:12 AM

Sick sps! I can't believe that SSC took 2 years just to grow that much...never the less it's an exquisite piece.

freezetyle 02-06-2013 03:27 PM

Went to Visit Wayne last night. as per usual the photos he posts do not do it justice.

He also gave me a demo on the Mitras. That light with his tank is going to be unreal!

Duker 02-06-2013 10:26 PM

Hey Wayne, mitras....sweet! Looking forward to seeing them in person. They seem alot brighter than the radios IMO, from ur pics.

Ur always welcome over. I find that the colours from the Radion look washed out but it is not a fair comparison to the Mitras. What I like most from the Mitras is the closest resemblance to t5s which was the main reason why I bought them. Again this is my preference not saying this is better then other LEDs... I still like my the Radions... I'm getting some decent growth and I intend to keep at least two of the three Radions for my second set up soon.

Aquattro 02-07-2013 03:01 AM

Wayne, what are you running the Radions at? Most of those frags I got from you bleached out within days under mine, so I'm thinking yours are much lower?

Brad, I have been running the three lights at 100% iMo I think the AIs are stronger than the Radions. Did you place them high in your tank? Ur welcome to clip more...

Aquattro 02-07-2013 03:09 AM

Ya, they were in the frag rack. Most are coming along ok now, but I might need a new piece of that green one. I should have come by tonight, I had a couple hours to kill.

That hairy green one? I'll have a nice big piece for you. I can drop it off this weekend when I pick up the order from Denis at Tyler's.

No, don't think it was hairy. The one center right, mid tank, looks best top down.

We switched to the hanna phosphorus checker (parts per billion) when our low range phosphate kit started reading 0.00ppm.
