On the *news* click on HELP. at the bottom of that menu is the battle calculator. You can just enter what you know, I believe an unknown planet has 0 science levels, but you can look that up in the FAQ - it lists what an unknown planet is all about.

BTW I am at Gamma Alfecca Meridiana (72/-27)

I will try to see where you are at =)

You will need 29 Destroyers to be 100% sure of victory ( Assuming science is zero on both sides ) ... however in order to take over the planet you will need transports equal to the population level of the planet ( ie. pop 4 = 4 transports ) ... one other thing when it comes to " unknown " planets is that they may still have destroyers circling them so send a bit more than you " need " to do the job :cool: ... well thanks for the tips, I guess I have to build a bunch of destroyers, I am at Math level 5 so I am closer to getting a new ship.

I must say it is a bit slow of a game but I think that it just takes a bit to get into it.

I hope you don't mind me asking some newbe questions but would it make more sence for me to attact a long time idle planet that is close to me with 2 star bases? And do you get stuff when you destroy a planet?

You get experience, and how long have they been idle?

I know it is illigal, but some players make like three chars in a row ( the last time i started a guy did this) under different names. Then they just let them idle away, and destroy them for xp.

Long story short - be careful who you attack. not to mention allies :P

At level 6 you will get a 50% bonus for fewer losses in battle as long as your opponent is at level 0 ( if you are 6 levels above your opponent you get this bonus ) ... you dont get Battleships till you reach Physics level 15 and Cruisers at Math level 15

Most definately ... you get I believe 50% of the PP's ... then you can use the combined PP's to build a bigger fleet ... it really takes off once you can do that and also when you can got neighbouring star systems :cool:

Need a bit more XP and money to do a formal alliance... just know where we are and help out when we can until we reach high enough to form a offical alliance..

okay I am sitting here at work tring to read all the stuff on the web pages now but I hope I can bother you with one more question.

How do you know how far away you are? I know I can move my ships and click calculate time but that is only for the 8 planets in my system how do I go out side of that area?

To get outside that area, I believe you need to increase your Biology science?
