This was the reasoning I used for doing the exact same thing on my first tank. Will do it again!

I'll settle for pics of you guys doing the rockband think...you go full out and dress up in costumes :)

What skimmer did you settle on?

sigh......

"and the new one I got today is a DUAL Recirculating DDNW-250."
I really should pay attention.

Some photos of the skimmer. Tank drilling will probably happen this week, it keeps getting pushed back, but it will get done eventually. The skimmer we picked up is an Octopus dual recirculating skimmer (DDNW-250).

So as some of you can guess the tank lift party didn't happen this past weekend. Thats okay, we ended up putting it on the stand tonight.

First the stand needed a hole for the plumbing

Kevin cut in the hole, I watched, and plugged my ears.

A hole!

A padded hole

Then through the magic of photography the tank is suddenly on the stand!

The glass needs to be cleaned, and then our next step is the floor, adjusting everything so its all level.

The rock is still cooking, and it is thankfully far less foul. I hope it will be ready soon enough to get this tank full of salt water in the next two weeks, maybe 4 weeks if I need to wait.

Yay!...

oh and...about bloody time :)

michika 05-09-2008 02:28 AM

So true!

There should be lots more progress in the next month. Tomorrow is a big day for building, or at least this weekend is. I'm STILL waiting on my bulkhead shipment, I think tomorrow I will just purchase locally. Where would I go for bulkheads in town?

I saw a bunch at Elite the other day...

Build's looking great. What type of foam did you get?
