Looks good Christy!! I am battling red slime in my LPS and anemone tank.....mine is due to nitrates, yours most likely not...but I am using Tailored Aquatics Nitrate Destroyer on that tank, and am noticing a decline on the red slime (acutally a large noticeable difference quite quickly!)...just an idea.....it also took care of my red slime in my 150g when I was having nitrate issues there...don't know if it would work, but hey, it might!

Yeah I was using the nitrate destroyer in my tank as well, nitrates were only about 5-10 though so not a major deal but I wanted to get them as low as possible before starting zeo.

Some of the best tanks I have ever seen have battles this issue. When you get tired of battling it, do not fear using the red slim remover. SPS safe is used as noted on the bottle!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys

So far I've just been doing the old turkey baster/water change method, sometimes it works sometimes not. The slime really seems to like a few pieces so those that aren't nailed down have been moved along to somewhere else, so far so good. I've been moving the powerheads around in case its due to *gasp* coral growth! but this stuff is pretty persistent and even when the polyps are waving about the red slime has a pretty good foothold and ain't goin nowhere unless its direct flow.

I'm really hesitant to use the red slime remover at this point. I think I'll just fight the good fight a bit longer as I've had other algaes that were more dastardly than this one, so far I can handle it

Beautiful! I love the "kissing sponges" :) I'm happy to know even the pros get cyano sometimes (well, not happy you have it but happy I'm not the only one lol!)

Tank looks great ! That wrasse is a real beauty What kind is it? Does it have any markings on the dorsal fin? Is it invert safe? Any close ups of the purple acro to the left of the wrasse.

Thanks, its a tailspot/melanurus/Hoevens wrasse Haliochoeres melanurus. It does have a spot on the dorsal fin closer to the tail. I wouldn't say it was invert safe but I've never tempted fate as I've seen him go to town on various stomatella snails and any mini brittle star that makes the mistake of having a leg exposed.

Here is an older photo of that purple acro, its been through a rough time and now that its getting bigger I often give it a good whack with the magnet cleaner as its getting too close to the glass, as a result it is growing rather oddly in some places and has quite the odd coloration. I can't get a decent shot because I still can't get anything in between it and the glass to clean the algae off the glass.

Looking great Christy. Some really beautiful corals in there. Look forward to following your zeo progress.
