I'm frustrated...but I'm politely frustrated :)

Mods wouldn't need to treat people like school kids if people didn't sometimes behave like school kids. Mature grown ups don't hurl nasty epithets and degrading sarcastic remarks at others. Or at least they shouldn't.

When you join an online board, you have to agree to certain terms and conditions. If we all followed those terms and conditions, we'd all have spared ourselves a lot of time reading and responding in this thread, and could have spent the time cleaning our glass or daydreaming about starphire and deltecs and vortechs. Mmmm.....

Any group of people, I don't care who they are from Quakers to politicians are going to have disagreements, some will turn to arguments, some of those will get heated. Just the way the world works my friend. To expect that Canreef or any board is going to 100% free of conflict is ridiculous. People need to stop making mountains out of molehills. Canreef has a good membership and is run well, to tighten things up further will be a real shame.

Oh, I never assume that Canreef should be 100% free of conflict. I just assume that there's always a civil way to deal with that conflict.

Carry on....

I should clarify, when I said "not notice him/her" I meant in the capacity of mod. Mod contributions to regular threads are an obvious benefit to the community.

yes i agree that a mod is like a good ref. but even good referees have to say "this is where i draw the line, this is where i step in." there are set rules (set by the owner of the board), mods keep the rules, we abide to them. if we dont abide to the rules and insist on making our own, then theres no point in having the ref to keep them are there? sometimes a ref HAS to step in, not because they want to or because they simply can, but because the players themselves are out of line.

thankfully, i find that our "refs" dont need to step in as often as in some other boards.

NR stands for nano-reef. great site for nano aquariums... obviously. www.nano-reef.com

Well since everyone else is commenting, I will say "amen" and "thank-you" for that post.

Cant argue with that either but then thats why there are moderators. Just in reference to your last sentence, there are none, nor have there been plans to tighten things up. We try to stay someplace between boards that have free for alls and others that have a very strict policy.
