With today's cost of living, how on earth does a single income family with 2 kids afford to buy a house, let alone afford to pay rent in bc... Maybe I should have become a drug dealer instead of making an honest living....

I hear you man, Times are tough

Alberta did you know your bus drivers make more then a Paramedic? Maybe instead of having trained medical professional responding to 911 calls while under staffed and less then ideal working conditions start sending Taxi's and Bus Drivers... But Yay for Alberta and AHS having a 100M Surplus this year and giving all the higher ups huge bonuses but still cutting Nursing positions and not filling Emergency Services staffing needs and providing any incentive for anyone to remain in the industry EMS wise.

:)

Thought I would add a "vent" as well haha.

Ya something seems wrong about that

It's also seems like companies no longer care about how hard you work, how fast and how good of quality, wage seems to be based on who has what tickets and it doesn't matter how sh**** your work is

Like at my work, the a level welders are generally the worst producers with the lowest quality of welds yet that make significantly more than a redneck with no tickets who can weld circles around the a level guys and never fail a weld test

I think that's why you see a lot of single income families with government assistance. Even with 2 incomes and a family money is tight with rising housing costs and inflation of everything.

I find Alberta is geared towards the Rigs and Oil industry and if you are not tied in and working in them making ridiculous amounts of money then you're left behind trying to catch up.

- With the increase of businesses looking for staff and the rising population trying to fill the jobs especially in Alberta the work ethic is horrible in these places due to the fact that why would Joe Blow work his ass off for the same pay if and when he gets fired he can apply to the next place over and be hired the next day. Eventually the economy will implode and we will have a under educated lack of leadership that results in nothing. Oh wait? Do we have a Prime Minister now if we do who is it? Is it the guy that hasn't made any decisions and spends his time travelling around the world still doing absolutely nothing.

Last time I asked the government for help I got screwed over, wife went on maternity leave and they tried to make us pay it all back because a mistake they made with the paperwork
