picked up the new tank last night, wont have time to set it up for a while yet but shes here none the less lol
decided to go with my origional plan of 30 x30 x20h so 75g cube;PPP the bonzai is gonna look nice with the extra room around it. |
That was fast, who ever said Dave takes forever?

no kidding 2 days and she was done lol mine was an easy fast build though no polish and easy overflow. tank looks stellar though:) you still coming by after lunch?? |

i have not been ale to get a decent pic of this zoa no matter how i tried but you nailed it :twised: |
Denny what type of gorgonian is that i would love to swap a frag of that with mine i have
|
Yo buddy I'd love some of those in my tank. Lol
I'll trade ya for my mandarin? |
Quote:
it will be a long time before i frag that one , started with 1 polyp and its prob my fave in the tank. its a yellow jacket zoanthid:) |
Quote:
im not sure of its actual name , but it is not photsynthetic and needs a very large amount of food in the water column all day. i would gladly cut you a frag though its bright and its food isnt hard to get, def alot easier than other nps gorgs:) |
with growth and new fish come new homes , so they bonsai will be moved into this new tank which should add some more comfort to my latest addition:P
unfortunately no glass sandbed in the new tank , i love the idea and its nice now that coraline is starting to grow on it in blotches but i have a few fish i want now that i have a bigger cube. heres the new tank built by dave at concept , thanks dave!! 77g cube 30" x 30" x 20" high http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/a...psc49de0c7.jpg http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps5134a57d.jpg http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9e373f01.jpg http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/a...psa3faad82.jpg |
Looking good Denny, those Yellow Jackets have me drooling .
Nice shots BTW Steve, good to see someone with an SLR finally made it over to our resident newfies tank! |
Anytime Denny, you know the drill. FYI for others I take pictures in exchange for frags and beer
|
Quote:
thanks buddy , funny i seen your cube and ive been jealous of it ever since and realized mine is too tiny lol your def on the list for the yellow jackets , i started with 1 polyp when we got our order im up to five now , not the fastest grower but quick enough:) |
Quote:
thanks man that was awesome , its the first real pics of ever gotten of it, next time i know a couple of things to do before you come over :) |

still looks way better than my fts pics , when the new cube is up a running we will do it again. im also going to have the flow shut off and nps corals fed well before you get here:) |
so for the new cube.......
sand or barebottom what do you guys think?? |
sand for me
|
I think reef tanks look better with sand, but have seen some beautiful ones without. Seeing as you said you have fish with needs, I'd say sand...

yeah i want to keep my wrasses in their so ive been thinking sand as well too. if it helps i will have the following fish , which i already have now: black leopard green mandarin copper band butterfly i doubt ill add much more than that for now , i prefer low bio loads for fish. |
i vote sand to just doesnt look right without it lol
|
+1 on sand!
|
Sand for sure
|
Coarse sand
