Any reefers going to the Game tomorrow? I managed to snag a ticket tonight on Ebay for Face value :) section 220 row 3.

If anyone is going drop me a PM before 10am with some contact info and we can get together before the game/during the game...

Quinn 05-16-2004 09:57 PM

It would be nice to see a Calgary-Vancouver Game 6 style comback right about now...

EmilyB 05-16-2004 11:31 PM

I figured as soon as I bought the stupid flags, they'd be toast...

AJ_77 05-16-2004 11:32 PM

With all the road wins, maybe we still have the advantage?

The flags are still cool...

DiscusZ 05-16-2004 11:59 PM

I think I will stay home the next game.. everytime i go they seem to lose. I have not seen one win in the play offs yet.. I figured I would and go to game 4 after the loss in Game 3.

Sigh....

Ah, the more sensible of the couple. How'd you get onto the camera balcony?

Alan, if things continue as they have, with visitors always winning, we'll win the series! So cross your fingers.

DiscusZ 05-17-2004 04:07 AM

I was in section 220 row 3 tonight and I had to walk behind the cameras i nthe Wheel Chair section./ Ron was doing his opening speech there, so I stood there and one of the guys there asked if I wanted my picture taken. so I gave them my camera, also got my Green Hard hat signed :)

Good one Quinn :)

you made a few canuckle heads eat their words!!!

I always said if they get by vancouver there will be no stopping them. I said from the beginning that the Flames were cup bound.

Now we knocked off the Sharks.. Who is Calgary going to burn next? Philly? Tampa? That series will go 7 games

Jim

Veng68 05-20-2004 06:19 AM

Only 1 thing to say..............

Golf Sharks Golf

Congrats Flames

Cheers,

Interestingly, Vancouver gave us the biggest run for our money. As I recall, game 6 and 7 were both OT nail-biters. Detroit and San Jose have both been taken out in game 6. So I guess that's a stroke in Vancouver's favour.

DiscusZ 05-20-2004 07:13 AM

Or Vancouver was just flukey and got easy goals :) or give them credit,.. But nah why give them credit :)

I am still waiting to see a fish tank in this thread? isn't there a TSN forum for talking about hockey games?

As far as I know ice is still made from water so I think it qualifies as aquatic in nature

Now as the volume of water would rank up there in the mega MONSTER tank category ... the whole Hockey thing is incedental

Of course the person in question objecting to the content of the thread could be a bitter Canuck fan wishing we were talking about their team instead of Canda's team ... THE RED HOT FLAMES !!! j/k

I don't like the canucks either so nice try. heck I don't even care about hockey enuf to watch any of the game. now if we were talking CFL that would be a different story, but the NHL could fold and it woulden't bother me in the least.

Steve

Buccaneer 05-24-2004 04:39 PM

Look above then if you are not a hockey fan ^^^ ... I had the whole aquatic thing explained  ... start your own thread on the CFL then if you are not into hockey

Bob I 05-26-2004 03:33 PM

I don't know if others have noticed, but the further the Flames go, the more detractors they get. Last night the announcer sounded almost sorry they won. Don Cherrypicker said look out on Thursday, and some guy on TheScore mentioned that only one road team wiinning the first game has gone on to win the series. That was Edmonton over Boston some years ago.

Quinn 05-28-2004 08:40 AM

The problem with sports statistics is that people assume that somehow previous statistics will actually affect the outcome of a game or series. Something like rolling a one through five on a dice and assuming your sixth roll is therefore more likely to yield a six than any other number. I do have to admit, they are fun to talk about, but I think a lot of people misinterpret them.

You know Steve (Stircrazy), I was going to make a list of your Lounge threads that were not aquaria-related, but it was too long to post.

Stretch 05-30-2004 12:08 AM

Here We go

Lets hope they can hold things together tonight

Quinn 05-30-2004 03:56 AM

Owned! Let's see if we can take game 4.

AJ_77 05-30-2004 04:09 AM

game 4 would be real nice, but it seems that game 5 has been the clincher for us so far... mind you, don't think we've up 3-1 in any series yet...

YET!

but yeah, a game 6 win at home to wrap the series (and the Cup). Gotta look for that!

Delphinus 06-01-2004 02:51 AM

I want the last 3 hours of my life back. I could have spent it getting a root canal, or perhaps cleaning toilets.

I slept from 5 min into the game till 5 min fromt the end. Didn't miss much.

AJ_77 06-08-2004 03:53 AM

...

bleh

...

Buccaneer 06-08-2004 04:22 AM

Lets face it ... they did better than anyone could have hoped ...

there might even be a price on Frasers head and I want to know who is paying that slime ball

I am disappointed in the loss and even though I know that Sutter rallied the troops with the " Us against Them " speech ... he was dead on in terms of motive from Bettman and the league ... fact is noone wanted us to be there ... not the league ( salary cap looming ) ... not American TV media ... heck not even Don Cherry for crying out loud ... the whole playoffs all he could talk about was Belfour this and Belfour that

I am PROUD of our TEAM and what they accomplished in spite of the calls against us and the non-calls against the opposition

They battled like true warriors right to the bitter end.

GO FLAMES GO

Finally we have a team to look forward to next year !!!

andestang 06-08-2004 04:26 AM

 - have to be proud of the boyz, job well done

Veng68 06-08-2004 04:36 AM

You gave it your best shot............ nothing to be ashamed of.

Congrats to the Flames for going so far.

Cheers,
Vic [veng68]

dyereefer 06-08-2004 04:56 AM

Calgary still rocks

Quinn 06-08-2004 04:59 AM

Apparently the city will be holding a parade on Wednesday regardless. The team did a fantastic job and got way farther than we ever expected. This is a team that was essentially a throw-away until this year. Many of our players have good years left and I doubt many will want to jump ship from the team and the city behind the team. I say, bring on next year!

In other news, this thread has reached RC proportions!

EmilyB 06-08-2004 05:14 AM

At least they beat the crap out of that little whiner.....

No shame in being second
