Pellet Flow?

Hi Guys,

Very different flow rates from lastnight's video and deputy1234's video.

I heard that if there's too much flow, the bacteria will just get blown out. Too little flow and the mulm will cause clumping.

Can someone at OC please advise which flow rate is optimal?

Should all the pellets in the reactor tumble? Or do you just need to visually see the pellets come up one side, and down the other side, so that they are constantly cycling around the reactor?

Thanks!
Gary

Hi,

We've had good success with about 300-350 gph going inside the reactor. The pellets should have a nice GENTLE tumble.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

What does that tumble visually look like?

Thanks.

All pellets should be moving actively up or down, doesn't matter just as long as they are in a constant moving state but in a relaxed way; not looking like they are being blown around in the reactor.

I'll try and make a vid of ours for you to see.

I'll post it on our blog.

Give me till tomorrow if you can.

Thanks
